I really like the full size. I keep discounting it as I think a non-fixed roof vehicle would be loud/noisy & ultimately tiring over the length of drives I’d like to be doing. I always said though I’d have one about the time of the first refresh in retirement when I can run it around the desert SW with the top off. But. My dealer has a 23 used OBX on the lot I may need to take a test drive in just to prove to myself that It’s not quite the daily I’d want. It’s a soft top so I’d kinda be sandbagging it a little bit since that definitely won’t be a quiet & serene ride.
Dibs on taking it to Mclean for you XD

Awesome plan! Why not beat up Advantage’s inventory. With their dealer plates & insurance. After all it has to be thoroughly test driven right?!? ? ? ?

if you check their site though it’s a stock OBX w/ mall crawler tires. So you & more on here have proven the BSBL can make it farther.

I had no intentions of offending or coming off rude. My apologies. For what it’s worth I love my sport and have full intentions of owning it til the day it dies and beyond. Although I think your response is a bit dramatic, I do understand and will rethink my comments on here in the future.
Wow. FWIW Chiefthepup I’m glad you started this thread. It is a worthy discussion for people with the BS to debate if they would rather have the full size Bronco. I have the BS Outerbanks and love it and personally have no desire for the full size Bronco. But I also have no desire for real off roading. I just love the look of the Bronco’s both full size and sport. Your comments are in no way offensive in my opinion. I have seen a lot of offensive stuff on this forum from a few hot heads and I just don’t respond.

I'll be honest and state wanted the full size bronco. I like the Outer banks BS that we ended up buying.

What kept me from buying the full size? The price.

The pricing of the full size is getting to be nuts. I paid 32K for my 22 BS Badlands and 40K for my 23 Heritage Edition 2 door. That's only because I got it at Granger for 2K below invoice and the Ford price protection from 2021. My same vehicle now lists for 52K but then the BS Badlands now lists for 10K more than I paid too so they are both getting pretty pricey.

And continuing operating costs. 15-17 mpg? No thanks...
Also depends on engine and trim. A full size Big Bend with stock 32 inch tires and non-Sasquatch will get nearly equal MPG as my 2.0 BS Badlands. Now, comparing a 1.5 BS to a 2.7 full size with Sasquatch, you are looking at 2x

I was speaking from my own point of view, which is the only reason I would buy a full size Bronco is for a more capable off-roader. I think it would be a toss up between the Badlands Sport and full-sized Big Bend over which is more capable off road.

But even if you compare a Sport Big Bend to a full-sized Big Bend you're looking at a minimum 30% increase in fuel use to trade up.

I would completely agree. The full size Big Bend and a the Sport Badlands are pretty equal in all aspects. The prices are similar, the gas milage is similar as well as the off road capabilities. Going from a BS Big Bend to a full size Big Bend is as different as night in day in all aspects except the name.

My 2 cents I think the bronco sport is an awesome vehicle and I truly loved and enjoyed mine. Only drawback was the seat I think the seat size on the drivers size was a bit small and it bothered me on long hauls. The bronco is a lot roomy of course and surprisingly comfy, great seating position and for a big vehicle extremely maneuverable. All the other comments on the full size I agree, gas mileage, cost all are negatives.

The fuel economy part is a given, but it would not stop me from buying a full size bronco; only the price tag does that.

I bought the BS because I like the idea of a big boi but it doesn't make sense for me. I think the BS is pretty great in its own right.
If I didn't have a daily freeway commute (noise and mpg) I might reconsider. I do think you pay kind of a lot for what you get just glancing at used prices.

Same on the seating, to me the seats are not plush enough to take on long road trips, maybe if I ever decide to take it I will need to buy a memory foam chair pad or something. For now it’s F350 for long trips.

Same reason I won’t get rid of the Lexus. There’s a reason us old guys with no butts drive Lexus’s. They are great for putting in 15 hours plus of seat time and still able to sit down afterwards. But the BS seems great for shorter trips of 6 -8 hours.
