Appreciate the praise... best pictures taken when your having fun and not worried about setting up that perfect shot... life's too short : )... if it comes it comes... like this short blurb with me almost falling..hahaha

Eh, only would have been a short tumble. I'm sure you could walk that off. 😏

In all seriousness though, excellent shot. I've dabbled in drones myself but the scenery was never quite that spectacular.

Watch that first step — it’s a doozie!

You can carry more if you put an ATV cargo rack in your receiver hitch. It lets you carry extra gas to supplement the ridiculously small gas tank on the Sport. And, it might even leave room for a dog.
Hi there,

We car camp in the NorthEast..you have to be pretty deep woods to not be able to get to a gas station on a half tank of gas (left from driving in). We won't be more than a few hours from a gas station. Gas mileage is not an issue.

I do have a luggage carrier for back, as we had 4 kids and would drive to NY to catch cruises or to airport and the 3rd row seating of our prior 2007 Highlander did not leave much luggage space.

That also greatly reduced our clearance. We had to drive up an incline between two trees so close we had to pull mirrors in. The break over would have hit it on the ground and we would not have been able to turn between the trees without hitting it sideways. It also means that something has to be left out of it rains. As it is now. If it is possible rain everything can fit in the front seats area and not be left out.

We car camp like Ultralight Hikers essentially.
Thanks for the thought though.

Do you worry about that stuff flying forward and causing problems if you have to brake hard? I do worry about that when loading up for a trip.

Not Really. Not for hard braking. The tent and storage containers going across the rear folded seats basically make a wall that the perpendicular stuff below and on shelf would have to get past. We have had to hard break due to summer tourist traffic conditions and no issues. Roll-over of course all bets off.

The point of the ATV rack, instead of the standard rack, is that it is narrower and sits higher, so it doesn't drag. I've used a standard rack to carry my minibike, and it can drag. We don't get a lot of rain here in the southwest, but anything I put on the back is in a waterproof (and mostly rustproof) box, as shown in my photo above.

I don't car camp, per se.
But we did take our bikes out for a long weekend. A nice campground is cheaper than a hotel and bringing a car means we can take more food and water.
