Specs of the Badlands says that the max load weight it can carry (including occupants and cargo) is 824 lbs. Is that real? It is about the same limit of an small car! How can it be possible? I imagined it would have a load capacity of 1200lbs at least, considering the load capacity of similar size SUVs.
I was planning a holydays trip with my familiy but we are five, and together weight about 700 Lbs and we have about 200 lbs or more of luggage, and I wont to take my kayak (about 90lbs). Can´t I do it with the Badlands? I will break it? I had a BMW X1 and carried all this without problems. I imagined the Bronco Sport with more capacity than the X1. It looks more strong.

Most have a weight capacity of under 1,000 pounds, some as low as 700. That's total inside the vehicle for occupants and cargo.
You're BMW may have done it, but that doesn't mean it was rated to do so. Most vehicles will have a sticker, usually near the one that shows proper tire inflation, with the max load capacity.

The BMX X1 has a 1200 lbs load capacity, according BMW
The X1's ground clearance is nearly an inch less than the Badlands, giving it a significantly lower center of gravity. A lower center of gravity aids in vehicle stability during emergency maneuvering. The Badlands, on the other hand, incorporates the HOSS suspension, which offers greater travel and softer springs to improve vehicle handling for high-speed off-road driving. More suspension travel, softer springs, and a higher center of gravity make the Badlands much more prone to rollover, especially when the vehicle is carrying more weight.

Has anyone taken trips in the Bronco Sport with five adults and luggage? I'd like to hear about experiences to find out whether or not I can take the trip in the Bronco. It seems unreasonable to me that a vehicle of this size, approved for five passengers, with a good trunk capacity and roof rack, can only support 800 lbs of cargo. I still can´t belive it.

I'd like to hear from someone that has a '25 Badlands (both with & without Sasquatch) pulling it from the sticker in the driver's door frame.

The published specs are not to be trusted, quite honestly. The published specs for my current ride (2020 Soul EX) range from 1135 to 1179 lbs. Checking the door sticker it says 860. Guess which one I'll believe.

The major consideration is how a specific vehicle is equipped as delivered. Every option/feature/package will add to the delivered weight and reduce the actual remaining capacity.

Bottom line, as-built and published numbers are never the same.

An important point to remember for all the folks modding with different tires, wheels, bull bars, lights, racks, etc., is that they all come with a resultant hit to what you can now safely carry. It's worthwhile to scale the car after each significant mod, ensuring you get updated front and rear axle weights. The margins aren't terribly huge (or forgiving) with the BS.

And remember that pesky warranty, exceed factory limits at your own risk. We all know they'll look for any reason to deny a claim.

I have seen the Ford Escape payload capacity listed in the 800+lb range.
For the Bronco Sport depending on options Ford media lists the Badlands payload capacity at 1010lbs, the other models have another 160lbs more capacity. This is for the 2022 model year. Scroll to the last page of the PDF.

2021 Badlands.
I just traveled from Arizona to Washington State with a pretty maxed -out load. Rocks. Maybe 500lbs. (Lapidary wife). Another 500lbs of misc.
Rocks at floor level, with an ascending stack of heavy to light boxes. Full 40qt cooler, etc. The ride felt pretty stable, and I have a 2" lift .

FWIW: I just checked the stickers on the driver's door frame. One said the maximum load is 975 pounds.

The other said the GVWR is 4,730 lbs.

Front GAWR is 2.495 lbs.
Rear GAWR is 2,350 lbs.

Poor mans way to calculate load capacity is to subtract the vehicle curb weight from the GVWR.
Better yet, for the Sport just look at the sticker inside the drivers door frame.
Sticker on my Badlands has the load capacity at 1016 pounds.

Ours is also a '22 Badlands but the sticker says 975 pounds.

I wonder what accounts for the (small) difference? Maybe the weight of the hitch?

My '22 Badlands with tow package is rated for 955 lbs.

150 lbs overweight isn't something I'd worry about. Of course, I drive like an old man. Take the curves slowly, and don't drive fast on bad roads.

I wouldn't worry about being a few pounds overweight. I'm sure the BS Badlands can handle it.
