Here’s another Wisconsin beer recently reduced by a few pints! PS: The Spotted Cows are safely corralled in the fridge. Those are the most asked for from those not from the area! I prefer mine a bit more meaty. The Warped Speed is my go to for taste.

Re-created this disneyland inspired cocktail we had when we visited during their holiday food event before Christmas time. It's a pomegranate paloma.
2.5 oz. Of mezcal
2 oz. Pomegranate juice
2 oz. Cranberry juice
1/4 oz. Fresh Lime juice
1/4 oz. Agave nectar
1.5 oz. Fresh blueberry puree
Shaken strained over ice in a glass rimmed with chamoy and tajin
Topped with Fresca float

Good grief, that's a lot of work for a 20-minute cocktail. I'll stick with my martinis, stirred, not shaken; Bond is full of s--t.

only thing that takes a little bit of time is making the blueberry puree. I tried muddling them in the shaker first and it wasn't the same. once you have a batch it only takes a minute to prepare.

and yes i never shake a martini unless asked. i like mine clear!

Cracked a banquet when I got home but finally sitting down on the couch ready to relax and selected this little number. Sierra Nevada Powder Day 7.7% abv guessing maybe like a 55 ibu? Double dry hopped process almost has a nitrogen-esque feel on the palate, medium bodied, super smooth. Like a liquid slush of hops and a hint of fruit.

Two things I like about the winter are sitting by my very 70's era fireplace and boost weather

01/08/2025 - Beer of the Day

Another addition.
Sopa de Queso (cheese soup) last night, 1/7/2025, at the familiar Las Palmeras Restaurante in Álamos Sonora Mexico.
Enjoyed a Bohemia Vienna Oscura from Cervecería Cuauhtémoc located in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico.

It's a dark beer, a good drink, but maybe a tad bit too malty? They do decent Pilsner and Wheat Beers as well as a seasonal Noche Buena.

Founded in 1905, it was inspired by the Bohemian region of the Czech Republic.

Now this one I've had! Well only the pilsner and the lager

Here is my latest tropical concoction which I call “Samoan Weekend”:
½ jigger Malibu coconut rum
½ jigger Cruzan dark rum
Goya Mango Nectar
1-2 Maraschino Cherries
1 Tropical paper drink umbrella
Fill glass ¾ full of ice. Pour rums and nectar. Stir. Add cherries. Top with umbrella.

That's a great brewery. I belonged to a camping group that set up each year at Oshkosh. We always had a keg of Spotted Cow on tap.

Easy peasy I like it! I would just add 1/4oz of lime to cut the sweetness.

When I make my "almost basic" daiquiri I shake 4oz. lime, 6oz. bacardi, and probably 1.5oz. simple syrup with ice, pour into a frozen glass and float some gosling's black seal rum on top. The syrup in the Shaken part has a slightly different viscosity and temperature probably plays a role also, but the layers keep separate as you sip it and you get the spices of the dark rum in front and the sweet citrus back.
If I need even more octane add a little 151 rum in the shaker also.
