Has anyone had their battery replaced per the recall? My OE lead acid battery died over the weekend and I’m well past the point of warranty replacement. The dealership told me the recall is still in the “advanced notice” stage and no further info has been provided to them regarding the recall. They also told me April starts Ford’s Q2. Some of you may remember the recall notice stated parts would be available Q2 2025. They are submitting a request to have it replaced now per the recall rather than later….

Has anyone else had a similar experience? How did it work out for you?

DOES ANYONE ELSE HEAR THE SONG “BATTERY” IN THEIR HEAD WHILE DISCUSSING THE RECALL???

I figure the same but I’m trying to push them to do it rather than pay out of pocket and wait to be reimbursed.

I had my original lead acid battery fail this week. My failure mode did not exactly match the description in the recall. If I jumped the car it would run normally but would not restart once shut off. I had AAA change battery installed my driveway. I had the AAA tech leave the old battery. Cost me $18 in core fee but if I have any hope of reimbursement from Ford once the recall is released I want the battery on hand if needed.

The lead acid battery in my wife's 2021 failed last month & we had to buy a new one & wait for reimbursement if Ford decides to reimburse us.

Was it replaced under the factory 36k miles / 36 month warranty?

I had to pay for my battery replacement out of pocket on 3/31. I've kept the paperwork handy for when the answer to the recall is "replace the battery" so I can get reimbursed.

No. My vehicle is at 61k miles. I do have the Premium Extended warranty but it doesn’t cover the battery. Yesterday I asked for it be replaced according to the recall.

Hopefully, other people can now get reimbursed or get replacement batteries through Ford without spending their own money.

*PSA*——-——the dealership 3 year battery cost is $229 plus $70 for installation. They try to sell the install by saying they have to update software. They are actually simply resetting the BMS. If you have to install your own battery you can reset the BMS using the instructions below…

I hope Ford doesn’t try to pull some shit and say they need the old battery to see if the failed battery was covered by the recall….hopefully that isn’t the case.

As much as I don’t trust corporations, Ford was good to me today and I hope they are to you too!

Definitely a good day for you - a new AGM Battery with 3 year warranty provided under the Recall (25S02) at no cost to you.
