Owners Manual has this to say:

Enabling or Disabling Autounlock
To enable or disable autounlock, see an authorized dealer.

Autolock (If Equipped)
Autolock locks all the doors when:
All doors are closed.
The ignition is on.
You shift into any gear putting your vehicle in motion.
Your vehicle reaches a speed greater than 4 mph (7 km/h).

Autolock repeats when:
You open, then close any door while the ignition is on and your vehicle speed is 4 mph (7 km/h) or lower.
Your vehicle reaches a speed greater than 4 mph (7 km/h).

Perhaps your dealership will use FORScan to change to the behavior you want although there might be a charge for that.
I can turn auto-unlock on/off in sync. I could figure out FORscan and do it myself if that can't be turned off at the dealership

now that you mention it with that exact wording im almost positive i seen this too. so might be better to just disable the auto lock repeat, so that way it functions correctly as intended unless you care to disable it during that drive, and then you could open and close your door and it would not auto lock afterwards. i can plug into forscan later and find where i seen that to share. for those without that version of sync.

didnt see anything about that in the thread you linked

That is correct. The person posting that thread paid someone to change behavior using FORScan. Auto lock was one of those changes, no details were given.

Ahhh I re-read your post. I thought you saw a sync screen setting to disable Auto Lock but now I see you were referring to Sync settings for Auto Unlock.

Options both on the body control module and APIM. this is how the options were set already. I need to drive and pay attention to how the auto lock reacts as it is then maybe go back and make changes. But it's definitely here.
