Too bad breakdown happened and you have my sympathies, but "you ain't the first".
Bought a new Saturn VUE and it started "rattling" at idle shortly after. Dealer couldn't find problem. I finally figured out how to duplicate problem and took it in. Dealer kept it for trouble shooting/repair, and gave me a used car off the lot for a "loaner".
After a month in the shop dealer asked for loaner back and put me in a "s--tbox" rental car which wouldn't hold me, wife, and some groceries at the same time. After I complained, they upgraded my rental which I had for two months while they tore the engine down.
The third month they stumbled on the defect by accident and fixed the car. When I got it back it turned out to be one of the best vehicles I've ever owned (27 of them), and the dealer was in my opinion excellent -- couldn't have asked them for more.
The reliability of the Saturn and the dealer's service departments were probably why GM killed the Saturn division -- no money to be made when people love and keep the cars for a long time.
End of saga; if the dealer is working to take care of you give 'em a chance, your BS may turn out to be one of the best cars you'll ever own.
