So if I understand the 2026 Order Guide correctly, this is another deletion for 27. Per the 26 order guide the 26 Badlands came standard with the leather trimmed mini perforated front seats.

My 25 Escape Platinum lost the leather trimmed seats also. Ford, if you are listening, I bought the 25 Escape because you were discontinuing it. You may have lost me as future customer. We will see. Not sure how I feel about loosing the leather trimmed seats even if it really is only in the part of the seat that you are sitting in, not the sides. My concern is longevity of the ActiveX vs Leather trimmed but I definitely will not miss the mini perforations that I have to vacuum to get little pieces of dirt out of the perforations.

Auto Stop/Start don't need a AGM battery now

And a less robust starter.

the loss of the incentive and the cost savings of a lesser battery and starter are likely the motivators for cutting it. which is why I'd rather it existed and people could just turn it off.

I hope they do not start deleting the AGM battery now for a standard EFB battery. My BS Badlands came withe EFB battery. It did not last long.

The ‘25 BLSas in Desert Sand is an absolute unicorn. Mine’s got it all sans the stupid gaping hole in the roof.

Sunroof is my favorite feature. Got the windows tinted a little darker than I should, but I just leave the sunroof cover open while driving and it makes it less noticeable. Lol

The auto start/stop issue is also a safety issue. Sometimes you need to accelerate immediately and the slight delay in waiting for the engine to start could be a problem.

It’s also PTSD inducing for me. I grew up in a cold climate with too many POS 70’s era cars that didn’t want to start when they were cold or at all for that matter. Continually shutting the engine on and off just makes me nervous.

Fuel injection did improve car starting. I used to have a very specific gas pedal pump plan to get an Olds cutlass supreme started.

The whole auto stop/start thing was a ridiculously bad idea from the beginning. It should have never made it into cars.

Or just remove it for free with forscan

i dont have or know anyone with forscan sadly. plus the adapter for forscan costs $ anyway. i dont really know a lot of forscan so id rather not blow up my car LOL

Apologies if you already know this but the Auto Stop Eliminator does pretty much exactly what you describe.

It saves whatever state you leave the Auto Start Stop button in when you turn the engine off. It doesn’t always turn it back on every time you start the car. If you shut it off it stays off until you choose to turn it on. In practice I never turn it back on but you can if you like.

It works great I’ve added them to my last three cars. It installs in about 10 minutes and can be easily removed with no permanent changes.

Is your 2025 an early build before Ford put in the security bolt on the bracket? I tried putting in an eliminator before using Forscan, but there is 0 way to get the bracket out with that security bolt or my hand in there with it on. My 2021 was so much easier when they went in with the odb port.

Sounds like a different device ?? My 2025 was actually a late build.

The AutoStopElimnator I installed attaches to the wireless phone charger harness in the front of the center console. I just popped off the top of the center console and the wireless charging tray and it plugs into the wireless charging harness inline. No tools required. Easy install, just as easy to remove .

Yup sure was different. I tried the one from 4DTech that goes in the footwell. That one is clearly way easier. I see they have the footwell one too.

The change from Leather to ActiveX happened with the 2026 Job 2 update when they lowered the price $2000. It carried over into 2027 and they removed more standard equipment this year.

This is a non issue. The engine starts when your right foot releases the brake pedal. By the time your foot is pressing the accelerator pedal the engine is running.

If you use both feet to drive, one foot on the brake and the other foot on the accelerator, then you may have an issue.

Interestingly, that was the goal of many driver training programs as automatics became more common, and the left foot was no longer needed for the clutch. Pedal placement was also moved left as the space became available. In theory, you can react faster with the left foot already in position, but in reality you just end up with folks riding their brakes with the result being the brake lights always illuminated and break pad wear increasing.

I remember the confusion back then, but then I also remember the starter pedal being on the floor to the right of the accelerator pedal...
