Yeah, let me know. I couldn't get a couple of bolts in the rear off, they just spun in place. Body shop told me the biggest cost in their bid is how much they needed to take off and put back on just to get to the sensor plugs.
Will do.

okay, I took my rear bumper insert off. All the bronco bolts came off with no issue except for the two underneath on either side of the license plate. They go through plastic and pretty much just spun in place. You have to use your fingers on one hand to lightly pull on the washer while you unscrew with the other hand.

A word of warning: there are two screws, one on each corner at the bottom at the back of the bumper, between the bumper and the muffler, that screw into a slotted tab. They have to be removed as well for the insert to come off. They are 7mm hex head screws. Had to run up to the store to get a socket since my set only went down to 9mm.

I’ll try to post some pictures tomorrow. Hope this helps, though.

Thanks - were you able to pull the bumper off enough to get to the sensor plug connection?

Yes. After I removed all the bolts, I put one bolt back in on the top on the left about half way out and that held the bumper while I reached in on the right and removed the sensor from its round holder.

Then I put a bolt halfway in on the right, removed the one on the left, and removed the sensor on that side .

Got my first coat of primer on it now.

So it's a little more complicated than the front bumper. The bolts on the bottom, below the shackles, go through a collar that is reverse threaded into the metal bumper. The bronco bolt is pushed through this collar before going into the threaded hole. When you unscrew, you reach a point where it is unscrewed from the thread, but still pressed in the collar. You can pull the screw out at that point.

Here is where the small screws are in the back of the bumper insert. It's the black hex head screw in the black tab to the right of the silver piece. There is a u-shaped metal clip that the screw threads into on each tab on the bumper insert. Be sure you don't lose them, they are just held on with pressure.

And here is the sensor holder. There are two little tabs, on top and one bottom. Be careful, they are soft plastic and you can easily push them up too much.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks, great explanation. Why do the engineers have to make it so difficult.

Shorts weather? That's about 3 months away for here. It warmed all the way up to 20 in my garage yesterday.

Florida boy here. It’s cold when it hits the 60s.

Hello folks, I appreciate the information on this forum. It helped me greatly with decision-making. On 11/05/2025 I ordered a BSBL and have received a total of 3 notices from Ford so far on progress with yesterday's email reporting that it has been shipped. Estimated delivery to SLC, UT between 01/25/2026 - 01/31/2026. They provided several images and something caught my eye. The front bumper with the same steel/recovery hooks appears to be all black now. Mine is non-SAS, so I can't speak to models equipped with that package.

Another thing I noticed is that the tires are listed as "225/65R17 Continental All-Terrain (A/T) Tires" -- so I wonder if they may have upgraded these slightly from the previous year's Cross Contact ATR to the Terrain Contact AT. I doubt that is the case, but will know for certain in a couple of weeks.

Here's the new front bumper appearance:

BF Goodrich Trail Terrain T/A's. We went one size larger than stock. I also have them on my 05 F150 2WD. We love them almost no tire noise at highway speeds.

Those look nice! I'm between those and the Toyo Open Country. I'm doing a lot more highway driving so safety and noise are more important now.
