I'd still go with big Bronco if I wasn't just driving to work.

TBH, given the great job they’ve done with the new Landcruiser, I kinda expected more. Not bad, but IMO closer to a facelift than a whole new thing.

The version with the big black wheel well arches is what looks so bad to me. With those it looks like there’s this big gaping opening and it throws the proportions way off in my opinion. The pics with the body color wheel well arches looks pretty good to me. If I needed a truck based SUV to tow with I would give it a look.

I actually quite like it, but then I did like what they’ve done with the Taco too. Certainly a different look than the LC, though largely the same vehicle underneath I’d assume. Right back to the time when truck based SUVs actually looked like the trucks they were based on. Which of course leads me to think Ford really needs to bring the Everest here as a fixed roof truck based Bronco alternative.

That front facade kept me from considering the 4Runner, that and dated styling in and out.

Personally I think they 've done a better job on styling the new LC than this new 4runner. the flared fender is a little too much. I'm sure many people like that since that is common mod for this type of vehicle, BS included. I perhaps prefer more integrated look and less "add on" type.

Overall I'd still consider getting one. Not sure about the pricing....this thing is 1" longer than the LC?! I was hoping it would be priced a little less than the LC but perhaps that hope is out of the window. A Hybrid model Trailhunter or TRD offroad probably at $60 to $65k.
