2024 BS Outer Banks Auto Dimming Mirror Seems Dark

Have not seen many threads on this. Any others having this problem and if so is there a fix?

Mirror may be "upside down"
Try rotating it 180 degrees, top to bottom.

My 2022 is a bit too light at times. Perhaps they attempted to fix the issue and overcompensated?

That is where mine is so the mirror is positioned right.

When you say the mirror seems dark do you mean in daylight or at night. The auto dim mirror is supposed to dim at night when there are headlights in the rear view mirror.

From the Owners manual (Page 92 of my 24 manual)
Automatic Dimming Mirror (If Equipped) Note: Do not block the sensors on the front
and back of the mirror. A rear center passenger or raised rear center head
restraint may also block light from reaching the sensor.
The mirror dims to reduce the effect of bright light from behind. It returns to
normal when the bright light from behind is no longer present or if you shift into
reverse (R).

It is very dark in daylight. Haven’t had it out at night yet.

Mine can look very dark in daylight but I just reposition the rear review mirror slightly and the mirror looks normal

Maybe the fuse for the mirror blew? Sounds like a dealership issue to resolve?

You are adjusting the mirror incorrectly. There is a normal and dimmed area of the mirror.

Adjust the mirror by rocking it up or down to get the “normal” area in your view.
