So one thing I learned.. didn't realise the the Safari roofline, and the limited roof load capability when driving. So my fat ass can sleep in the tent, but don't want to load it down when driving... :D

Yea makes sense. Have to account for load shifting during acceleration, braking, etc.

I'm still going through the document. Awesome having all this info in one doc!

I wonder why there is a loss of cargo space when you have the 2.0L over the 1.5L.
Cargo Volume (cu. ft.)
Behind 1st row 65.2 (1.5L) 60.6 (2.0L)
Behind 2nd row (max.) 32.5 (1.5L) 29.4 (2.0L)
?????

I was wondering the same thing. It would be great to get an explanation for this. The difference is significant.

I wonder if the engine compartment is longer and the cabin slightly shorter with the 2.0. If so, that would certainly exclude larger engines in the future, and that might also explain why the 2.0 is limited to the Badlands.

I have nothing on that I would need to see them...

Cannot believe that they make 2 configurations in the rear of a mass production vehicle..

I notice the same thing, I think the badlands and FE come with a full spare, others come with a mini. That's the only thing I could come up with, page 76.

And the spare is underneath the cargo area? Don't think we've seen photos of that.. but that could explain it.

I believe there are two different configurations of roofs only. One with moonroof (that takes about 2 cu. ft. away) and one without moonroof (+2 cu. ft.)

Then in the cargo area.. The 2.0L loses another 2 cu. ft. due to a lack of floor height adjustment to make room for a full size spare. The 1.5L can probably lower and raise the loading floor. So I’m thinking this is not a separate configuration.
So that explains some things.. but the full size spare only on BL/FE makes that an easy choice then. Was gonna get the Badlands anyway, but that just cements the choice.

I'd actually go sans-moonroof on a Badlands+Badlands build, but it looks like the moonroof is part of the package.
