Two weeks ago on a hot Saturday My car would not start got it jumped all good. Flash forward 3 days later same issue. Jumped it took to ford they test battery say it is fine I prob left lights on. Next day happens again. I got a video. Now it won’t even start after being jumped. Fourth of July i am in driveway watching fireworks and all of a sudden I see the bronco lights flashing and dash lighting up. Can’t lock or unlock car with the meh fob. Just Randomly lights up all kinds of errors. I’ve dropped it off at the dealer but suffice it to say I’m not confident in their judgment.
Anyone else have this problem and what did your service dept do to fix it?

Have your servicing dealer perform a LOAD TEST on your battery. A standard battery test involves simply checking the voltage, which is effective at identifying a bad cell but not much else. A load test applies a specified load on the battery while monitoring voltage. This is a much more comprehensive test that show how well a battery holds a charge, and can identify weak internal contacts in the battery that fail when they get hot.

First thought is bad alternator- your battery may not be getting recharged after the jump. Requiring multiple jumps over several days was exactly how my vehicles in the past have behaved with a failed alternator. Unfortunately, this can also damage your battery, as when it is completely drained multiple times, it can cause cell damage.

I'd have the dealer test both your alternator and do a load test on the battery. If you don't trust your local dealership service department, Autozone and O'Reilly's do these test for free as well.

Hi Megan! I can look into your Bronco's concern on my end. To get started, could you please send a private message over with the name/location of your local Ford dealer and your Bronco's VIN?

This looks like there is a bad connection. Clean both ends of the battery wires.

Had similar issue ford changed battery worked for almost a year out of warranty now had to replace second battery that lasted 3 months got charging system failure then nothing. Im looking at alternator now. 70k miles didnt think alternator would go out so fast but also now seems at some point coolant from possible water pump might have helped. Let us know what they say

THIS.

I had my 2021 B.L. at the dealer for the works service. I told them of issues with the start/stop not working correctly. Would hardly ever work. Told them I wanted a load test done. They said no issues with the battery, just that the car doesn't get driven enough. I looked at the battery test sheet they gave me when I got home. The load test was for an AGM even though I have a lead acid battery.

A week later I drove for 450 miles into Utah. Still didn't work. Put on 2700 miles and it worked intermittingly. It's a lead acid battery.

No doubt in my mind it's the battery based on previous experience on my Ford Escape's. One day on my 2018 Escape the car started fine, the next day the battery was completely dead.
It was replaced under warranty.

But getting them to acknowledge to retest and replace the battery will be a PITA even though the battery is still under warranty.

After having the key on accessory for 5 minutes I always get the center screen popup saying to turn the vehicle off or start it.

I'll probably have to replace it myself at some point with an AGM for peace of mind if Ford doesn't step up. It won't be a Motorcraft if I do.

Almost any auto store will do a battery load test and alternator test. No reason to go to a dealer.

These vehicles suck electricity, and during the winter when I don't drive much, my battery loses charge at least once a month. When the auto start/stop doesn't work anymore, I know it is time to charge the battery. I put a 4 amp charger on over night, and it is good to go for another few weeks.

My BS sits a lot. Sometimes a couple of weeks but I have the battery hooked to a Battery maintainer. Been using this for years.
Funny thing is you can drive for say two hours and when you park it, the battery is under 85% fully charged.
A few odd noises with the BS off and you open a door. lol
