  1. Ford Protect Launches Off-Road Coverage for Bronco and Bronco Sport Lineup

I'm barely still writing coverage, but already have windshield and tire protection from the dealer. The dent coverage is only for dents up to 4 inches big that can't be fixed with paintless repair... That doesn't sound very useful for "offroading" damage.
  2. How accurate is the onboard TMPS PSI readout?

Mine are always about 2-4 psi high, but very consistent against each other. If I'm targeting 35psi, three of them read 39, and one reads 30... I've just recognized a leak. So it's still a very useful display.
  3. Can Northern Cal Bay Area folks recommend a non dealer Mechanic in South Bay?

Agnew Auto Care in Santa Clara. That old man is a fucking G. Was my go to for years before I moved away. https://maps.app.goo.gl/ofRBSW9JPFu5gzKo7
  4. JCR Rear Hatch MOLLE Panel - Weight Problem

What fortuitous timing for you to ask. I just got the fittings in that I was waiting for to finish the project. I had also reached out to JCR and got the same response. Reading it again, I now know what they meant by the angled adapter. They mean these. You will need an angled fitting on the...

  6. JCR Rear Hatch MOLLE Panel - Weight Problem

Update: These CRV struts are much weaker than the OEM Bronco Sport struts. Going to have to go more custom. Update 2: Just took the OEM strut and checked it on a scale. It takes about 170 lbs-F to compress. Off to McMaster-Carr I go. Update 3: McMaster-Carr option is sold out, so I'm trying...
  7. JCR Rear Hatch MOLLE Panel - Weight Problem

Found these MaxPow struts for the 07-11' Honda CRV that appear to match the dimensions of the Bronco Sport strut very closely. Going to give it a shot and see what happens. Worst case scenario, I return them.
  8. JCR Rear Hatch MOLLE Panel - Weight Problem

I picked up JCR's rear hatch MOLLE panel and love it. But I quickly realized that adding even just a few items to the panel causes significant sag in the rear hatch. The OEM liftgate gas struts are simply not strong enough to handle any extra weight on the hatch. Has anyone encountered this...
  9. Bronco dash cam

My wife cought a domestic dispute in a parking lot last year, and I cought a bad t-bone collision this year. That's besides the random cool moments and pretty scenes I've pulled from ours every now and then. Get a cheap Viofo and just be done with it. The fact that cars don't come standard with...
  10. Where have you taken your Bronco Sport?

Notable trails I've done are Yankee Hill Road in Colorado, and the south loop of Fins and Things in Moab. Both of which I did with factory suspension and Falken Wildpeaks aired down to 20psi. Both of which I felt like I really needed to get a lift kit afterward and better skid plates. Traction...
  11. Mods required to turn the Sport BL into a respectable offroader?

If you want a "respectable offroader" then you are not getting around this. With a set of all terrains, the only thing stopping the BS from being an off-road juggernaut is ground clearance. Consensus is that HRG makes the current best spacer lift to add 1.25-1.5". They make a subframe lift as...
  12. Offroading, Overlanding, Wheelin', and More... Share Your Stories

Just got back from Moab. Hit the south loop of Fins and Things and had a blast. That makes 1 notably difficult rock crawl a year, but I don't think I'll hit anything that gnarly again until I get better plates, some rock rails, and the 2.5" HRG lift.
  13. Can I really be the only one?

You're trolling right? The brake noise everyone talks about is not a normal squeaky brake. It's a resonance in the whole brake assembly and it happens regardless of environmental factors. And it can be very loud. Consider yourself lucky if yours isn't too bad. Other then that, the car has been...
  14. Can I really be the only one?

Zero issues in 1.5 years except for the brake noise. But it is unacceptably loud. I don't think people are being nitpicky on that issue. It sucks very badly and needs to be fixed. Perfect example
  15. TSB 22-2326 : "Moan Noise in the Rear Brakes When Driven in Reverse in Cold Weather or High Humidity"

Great write up and pics. I'm incredibly interested to see if ceramic pads make a difference for you, as that is my logical next step. I did contact the Ford rep who reached out to me a while ago and left them a message. Still no word back. Granted, unless they offer me new pads and/or rotors...
  16. What did you do TO your Bronco Sport today?

Installed a GMRS radio and cleaned up some old wiring while I was at it this weekend. The radio is powered by my Auxbeam 8-gang relay board. The 3-way switch in the glove box switches the Auxbeam panel from an aux power fuse to a constant on fuse, in case I want to run the radio or lights while...
  17. What are the purpose of the front splash guards?

I accidently ripped one of those little air deflectors off my rear wheel with a rock while wheeling, so the other one had to go as well.
  18. What made you buy the Bronco Sport?

I was ready to replace my aging sedan with a Forester, even though my wife already had a Forester. Then I realized the BS was a thing and it was a no brainer. More power, more off road chops, not another Forester (good car, just didn't want 2), slick looking, I could go on.
