Has anyone replaced their "wet " oil pump belt yet? Mileage? Cost ?

HAs anyone put more than 100,000 miles on original belt?

This is for 1.5L 21-24 vehicles only.

I have 169,000 miles on the original oil pump belt. No issues.

Ford does not have a recommended replacement time/miles for the oil pump belt.

I doubt you will find anyone that has replaced the belt.

Here's a teardown video of the 1.5 Dragon from a Bronco Sport, the wet belt in that engine didn't look to healthy, I think whoever owned the vehicle was not to keen on the maintenance.

You have 169,000 miles on a turbo 1.5L ?? Wow!!!

Have you had any issues with the engine, other than maybe a water pump?

Did you use 5W-20 oil?

No mechanical Issues with the engine. 5W-20 Motorcraft Synthetic Blend. Always changed when vehicle oil minder tells me.

Original water pump. Very, very faint mist of a leak. I add 1 cup of coolant every 3-4 months.

Engine runs great.

Torque converter shudder issues. I drain and fill the transmission every 30,000 miles and use Lubegard Instant Shudder Fixx.

So the 2025 does not use a wet belt?

Correct the 2025's 1.5L and 2.0L are completely new engines and both use mechanical drive oil pumps. No wet belts of any sort.
they are still listed as a dragon faimly update. the biggest part that no one talks about is the focus on the actual combustion process and the design that was put into the combustion chamber shape valve and plug placment and so on to maximize the combustion efficiency. the features that are comonly listed are the integrated egr system, and the chain for the oil pump which realy isn't a big deal but enough people complained, for no reason, so they changed it since they were chaning the engine a bit anyways. some of the older models were actualy gear drive not wet belt. the other big update is the turbo, and they claim to be upgraded from direct injection to a combanation of direct and port.. um my 2023 has that one as well as all 1.5L dragons so I am not sure what they are getting at with that claim.

its to bad that non of them are made in north america at all.

Not sure where you received your info from but the 2025 1.5L and 2.0L are completely new engines. designated MPC (Ford's new Modular Power Cylinder family).

Looking up Ford parts, it looks like the 2025 MPC 1.5 engine still has the belt driven oil pump.

That's my understand as well, but haven't been able to confirm. Timing chain, but wet oil pump belt. It also has dual injection (PFI+GDI)
