Let me clarify, i recently traded in my 2022 Maverick Lariat awd first addition for my Bronco Sport. I love it except the sync 4. I 've had 2 Ford Focuses an Escape and the Maverick all with different versions of sync. The latest the Maverick with sync 3 and never had a problem with any of them. Now the sync 4 in my Sport is driving me crazy, it randomly changes from Sirius XM to android auto to the usb and you get the drift. All with me not touching anything. Today I was listening to a podcast on android auto from Wondery Plus and the sound stopped. I parked and tried to get the sound back on for 15 minutes and finally gave up. Is the snyc 4 buggy or do I have a bad system. Is there anything to try like a reset or update? I dread trying to get the dealer to do anything. Love the vehicle except for this.

Took delivery of my 2025 outer banks on June 15 and have yet to experience any issues with sync 4 and/or the infotainment system. I hope yours is an isolated incident and your dealer can fix it for you. Best of luck to you.

I've had my 2025 BS Big Bend for about 6 weeks now, and love SYNC4. I have had no issues with it. Zero.

I have sync 4 in my full size and have not had any issues with it. It acts exactly as the sync 3 does in my sport except I need a wireless adapter in the sport.

There have been a number of Sync 4 software updates - go to your Sync 4 settings screen, check the sync 4 version and check for updates then install any sync updates that are needed

make sure your Android phone is on the latest Android software

Finally, unpair your phone from Sync 4, power off your phone, power it on, and pair your phone to sync 4
Thanks I will try that.

I just went from a 2016 F-150 with Sync *whatever* to the '25 BS with Sync 4. No issues as of yet. XM could be better IMHO.

Unfortunately, you can't do this with Sync 4. Ford used to allow owners to download the APIM update for Sync 3 onto a USB to install it on your own, but with Sync 4, even if the APIM has a pending update on the server, checking for updates won't trigger the OTA process. You have to wait for the mothership to send it whenever it wants to do so. Unless there is an active OTA trigger for the vehicle, checking for updates will only say it is up to date or show the details of the last OTA it was sent.

@Ttownbroncosport Are you using Android Auto wirelessly or wired? If you are using a wireless connection, I recommend you switch to a wired connection. Even on the latest Sync version, wireless app projection on Sync 4 is less than perfect. I've been using Sync 4 since day 1 and it has gotten better, but with a wired connection, it is near perfect in function. This applies to both Android and Apple products.

On your Android, you will also want to go into the settings and tell your phone to use a wired connection ONLY for Android Auto. If you just connect it with the cable without changing this settings, it will still favor a wireless connection.

To answer your question: Yes, you can reset the APIM easily. Hold these two buttons down simultaneously while the vehicle is on and it will reboot the APIM:

Agreed re: SiriusXM. In fact, we have a subscription on my wife's car and I use the app via CarPlay on my Bronco Sport. It works fairly well that way.

So far, no issues with mine. I hope you get yours fixed. Have you tried a wired connection with cable? That would eliminate any interferences...

Well ever since I posted here it has worked flawlessly. Thanks for the suggestions. Hope it stays like this, I'm not going to try anything as long works as is.
