I owned a 1983 Bronco II, Black w/Red interior, 2.8L V6 5speed, it had a outside tire carrier that swung to the side to let the gate to open

My '88 Bronco II had that as well. The Bronco II was a larger/taller vehicle so the outside mounted tire worked well. I don't think it works with the Bronco Sport; just my simple opinion.
Enjoy the ride, and rock it out, Damon77!

I don't know if it's just the angle from where the photo was taken, but it appears to block your license plate... probably get cited a time or two for that one. #justsaying

The whole setup looks off. It looks exactly like what it is. Forced aftermarket, but if the OP likes it, that's all that matters.

I think it would be even better with an illustrated scene tire cover, but I wonder about license plate and function of rear camera. Can Damon77 reply please. Thx in advance.

Between needing to open the rear hatch regularly and no added clearance by relocating the spare, I’m not seeing any practical benefit, at least in my case.

Back in '73 or '74 I put a swing out tire carrier on my 1972 GMC 3/4 ton 4x4 pickup, worked perfectly. Now, on my 2025 Bronco Sport BLSQ I put a DirtCom swing out tire carrier on. At my age now, I don't want to unload the back end just to get the stupid spare out so now it hangs off the end of the Bronco Sport. I do have a Sasquatch graphic cover over the tire. True, the carrier blocks the rear camera, I am installing Wolfbox G930 system to take care of the rear camera. The backup sensors are also blocked and I just have to learn to deal with it.

Definitely needs a tire cover with the Bronco logo!

Ehh, it looks bad. Looks like a poorly designed mechanism slapped onto the back. It is not cohesive at all and has a god awful gap.

I generally like the look of a spare mounted like that, but I open my tailgate much too often to want to add another step to that process. I haven't seen one for the Bronco Sport that doesn't look like an afterthought. Like this one, they are mounted too far from the tailgate to look like an integral part of the vehicle and block the license plate and reverse camera.

I have a wheelchair lift on the back of mine, and so it always trigger the rear camera and proximity alarms. You end up getting used to it, but sucks not to have those features.
