No criticisms, but too many folks perhaps don't understand the 4WD locking diff functions on these cars. First and foremost, never drive on anything but dirt, mud, or snow with the rear diff locked... never. The off-road cardinal rule is don't use it until you need to. Don't lock 4WD, don't drive in off-road GOAT modes other than Normal, Sport, or ECO on the road. Switching or all the off-road stuff tells the computer how to change the transmission shift points, fuel delivery, etc. Playing with these things is a no-no. They will cause these tools to break expensive stuff.Bad news today from the dealership, transmission and RDU need to be replaced. $11k.
100k miles.
Anyone else have this issue?

I don’t use my bronco sport for off road activity. We have a side x side for fun. Couple of related postsI was just getting ready to post a new thread on this subject. RDU replacement, which I was just informed of needing
The Moaning noise is back now BTW.
But no one except Ford knows the percentage impacted or expected to be impactedIt’s posts like this that make me happy to have the extended warranty, and also make me think I should sell it to Carvana before something like this does happen.
That’s great. What does that have to do with me being happy i have the extended warranty in case it happens. But no one except Ford knows the percentage impacted or expected to be impacted
~500,000 sold and counting and the percentage for RDU failure could be quite low… we just don’t know
I have the extended warranty tooThat’s great. What does that have to do with me being happy i have the extended warranty in case it happens.
You may already know this, but since they have issued a recall to replace the EFB battery with AGM I think you may be able to get Ford to reimburse you for the AGM that you had to purchase. We got a new AGM installed a month or two ago at no charge, including pickup and delivery of our BS by the dealer. My 2023 Bronco Sport Big Bend
Water pump replaced by Ford due to slow leakage 65k miles $1700.
Battery replaced by me with an AGM battery 72K miles $200.
Transmission replaced by local transmission shop 73k miles $6500. Transmission shop said these transmissions are horrible!
Still keeping the Bronco as it is paid for by just wondering what else will go wrong.
