Don't you get better warranty on the fords used car? Might be worth $30/month.
Besides extra cylinder you also would get 1" lift.

I know I won't do any serious off-roading, but I NEED the 2.0L motor and feel a bit of 'buyers remorse' over the 1.5. Again, I know I will probably never use it but damn, i typically like to get top of whatever I buy.

Thoughts?
If you 'need' the 2.0L, why did you buy one with a 1.5L? You said you won't do any serious off-roading. They all ride down the pavement just the same. As far as towing, The 2.0 is only rated at 200 more pounds capacity than the 1.5. Do you do a lot of towing at the upper end of these limits?

A few weeks ago Carvana gave me an offer I couldn't refuse on my 2021 Big Bend. My dealer had a pretty well equipped Badlands that just came in that someone ordered and changed their mind on. My salesman put a hold on it for me on a Saturday to pick up Monday. Thinking it over for a day I realized I wanted the bigger motor 'just because'. I, like you, would not do any serious off-roading and have no plans to tow anything. It was just the hype from reading all the "the 1.5 is underpowered", "once you drive the 2.0, you won't even consider the 1.5", and other comments from Badlands owners. FOMO had me for a short time.

The thing is, I had already driven my 1.5 Big Bend for 9 months and never felt it was lacking for power. My better judgement took over and I asked my dealer if he had any Outer Banks. Luck was on my side and he had exactly what I wanted and in one of my color choices.

In the end, the step up from my 2021 Big Bend to a 2022 Outer Banks, with a long list of features that weren't on my BB, only cost me $2500 more. I'm more than happy and don't regret not getting the Badlands one bit.

Because at the time, the only thing my dealer had was the OB. Had he gotten a BL I would've jumped on it as I cared for the design of the car more than anything else. There was just a few requirements (360+, NAV, leather).

Having researched it more, visiting forums, scouring the web, I feel like I would enjoy the Badlands more. I typically like to buy the highest trim of my vehicles as I almost always suffer from buyer's remorse if I don't. Like looking at the empty button below the nav. Hence where I am at now.

Maybe with the increased capability of the BL, I might just be inclined to do a little off-roading.

Like you, Carmax is offering me over $5k for my trade-in. So if I don't put anything else down, I will be within spitting distance of my monthly rate on my OB with a shorter term than what I have now.

I usually end up buying extended warranty from Zeigler Ford anyways.

The 2.0L should have been offered in the OB aa a sort of "luxury power" version...[with]...more 'luxury' features to the OB that would not be available in the BL, like maybe a "LUXURY" to the GOAT modes, power liftgate, etc ...
Ford did this; it's called the Escape Titanium.

To an extent. You can still do some mild off-roading in an Outer Banks. I don't think so in an Escape Titanium.

Hi, again. I've got quite the issue here and was wondering if I can get some help.

I bought brand new, fresh off the truck, Cactus Gray 21 OB with 360+ and OB package. I've since added the OEM tow hitch and BL rear bumper. I pay approximately $510 a month with roughly $3,200 miles.

I've got an opportunity to jump into a used 21 Carbonized Gray BL with BL package, tow package, and 360+ for just $30 more a month.

I know I won't do any serious off-roading, but I NEED the 2.0L motor and feel a bit of 'buyers remorse' over the 1.5. Again, I know I will probably never use it but damn, i typically like to get top of whatever I buy.

I would keep yours. . I would rather have a vehicle no one else had. People just dont take care of stuff anymore. At least your used one was used by only you . Just my opinion

After 1 month, the entire family is sold on 360+ and the 2.0
I do add a splash of higher octane... with that, merging onto the Grand Parkway with 4 adults and some stuff is no issue at all.

Here's your truth. You are about the appearances and top of the line. Get the Badlands this appears to be the end game. Enjoy the ride. The debate isn't even real, you know what you want.

Switch to Badlands. There have been some problems reported with the 3-cyl. engine and I think a couple recalls. Not only more power, but you get 7 GOAT modes, two more than OB. BL models also sit slightly higher. And only BS BL owners get to go to the Bronco Off-Roadeo (search forums).

I too went to a dealer (200 miles from home) to buy a "new" truck ('21 Ranger) but it didn't fit for me. I was walking when I was offered a "used" '21 BL with 17K miles. I doubt that I would buy a 1.5L anything, but the BL had everything and was obviously an executive driver (I used to sell cars, new and used). I don't do offroad, but I do a LOT of snow and black ice in the mountains where I live. The 21s' also have not had items left out due to chip shortage. I say go for the BL!!!

Hey there! Sorry I'm late to reply ... did you get the BL? I ordered my car and am super happy with the 2.0 4 cylinder. Less recalls, if we ever decide to go 4x4 I feel more comfortable with that.
