My dealership just got 3 more new vehicles on the Ford.com search with the status of "dealer ordered." 2/3 have Assist+ and at least 1 has the tow package. If they are scheduling stock vehicles with things known or believed to be constraints then Ford isn't operating their priority system as advertised. Granted, these are all BB, so maybe it's just BL that can't have nice things for other reasons.
Hopefully this isn't peeing on anyone's parade, but when the dealer places an order for a client, it shows up on the site as dealer ordered

I'm fairly certain (though not 100%) that all ordered vehicles are technically dealer ordered. Supposedly with COVP customer ordered vehicles receive priority scheduling and incremental allocation. They don't have to wait until the submitting dealer has an open production slot; rather, a production slot is assigned to the dealer because of the order. This is all theoretical because there's basically no way to look from the outside and discern what the hell Ford is doing, and they ain't telling what the method is to their madness. Aside from commodity constraints, no customer order should languish in the USOB (spoken you sob, because that's what you do when your order is there) for multiple months while dealer stock orders are scheduled and produced, but that's what's going on. The Long McArthur guy said a couple of weeks ago that only 23% of BS sales is for customer orders. The line for customers at the Hermosillo plant (on the BS side) is not long, unlike the Maverick where over 80% of sales is for customers.

Just got that email. Ordered Feb 1st. I'm not sure what it means, but I'm worried it means "probably not until late this year".

For what it's worth, it was ordered in my wife's name, because her dad is a Ford employee, so we got it on the A plan. If there is any COVP priority, we should have it.

We also got no moon roof, no 360 plus, no tow package, no premium package. It's just a basic Badlands. I figured I could add the tow package myself if I'd get it sooner, but no dice.

You can go on a dealers website and view the window sticker, if it blue in color it's dealer inventory. If it's green in color it's a special order sold unit.

Maybe (and this is being super optimistic) @Ford Motor Company has heard all the concerns and is trying to assure people who have ordered that they didn't just fall through the crack into the abyss.

I've only seen one green sticker on local dealer websites. One of the dealers in my county is advertising Sports without window stickers/VINs that don't appear on the ford website search. I assume they are advertising things they've submitted an order for but have no had scheduled yet.

Dang so a base BL and you got this email. Means to me they are out of a bigger part. Engines were an issue last year. Wonder if this is the real issue and not chips.

When I'm looking for a new car, I search dealers websites. They will post any car they have a VIN for into their inventory doesn't matter if it's on the lot or in transit. Most will have a link to the window sticker. If it blue or black(dealer printed) I will look it over, if it's green I look elsewhere. If its something I'm really interested in I will call to confirm it is sold. As a side note, the dealer I use told me that all incoming units are sold. He has a list of people that will buy any bs or maverick truck that a customer declines. Any information I have about window stickers was told to me from a general manager at a dealership I have bought from since 1988. I cannot verify what I was told but it works for me.

I got the same email, and my order was placed 11/12/21.

My window sticker was never installed. It was laying in the back with the front license plate holder and the dealer sticker. None of it was put on the vehicle.

I called around to every dealership in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina for weeks. I finally ordered a BS BL from my local dealership on 2/22. I kept calling dealerships. Found a BS BL in South Carolina Monday that a customer had just decided not to take. It was almost the exact same as my build. Cactus Gray, 360+, tow package, Premium. Only difference was this one has moonroof and stock tires. I had ordered no moonroof and steelies. Needless to say a put a deposit down immediately and drove there yesterday to pick it up!

Found the VIN (not on the dealer's website) and it's a green window sticker. The dealer is advertising a special order as inventory. Yet another reason I will never, ever give that dealership a single penny.

While doing an occasional (okay, often) on-line build I then "Search Inventory" to see what's around. (There does seem to be an increase in dealer stock over past few months). I have noticed Green and Blue Window Stickers on dealer sites. Not saying it is or it isn't, maybe someone ordered a vehicle and found something in stock, or got tired of waiting and walked away. That would leave a special order in process. Have read a few posts here where people found something close to their order in stock and opted to buy vs wait.

I also noticed this morning doing an on-line build over coffee, the recent Warning Screen about part shortages, delays etc that you had to accept before proceeding didn't pop up.
