I'm not sure if its still an issue but IIRC last summer there was a point where the 2.0 engine was causing hold ups as well, not sure why.
That happened again briefly in late February. Confirmed with my dealership yesterday there was a 2.0L engine hold for a few weeks that was lifted early this week. So Badlands orders haven’t been getting scheduled (or at least very few of them) have happened for the last few weeks.

On ford's inventory search my dealership has 3 new Sports marked as "dealer ordered" with brand new window stickers today. I'll be annoyed if stock orders got scheduled ahead of my order if there aren't constraints causing problems.

I didn't take much stock (pun not intended) in the dealer sites inventory. I only ever found 1 actually on the lot when a site would say 3 or 4 available. The dealer ordered could mean for regular inventory or custom order like yours so those listed are likely already spoken for

They were all BB, and I ordered BL, so I'm sure I'll be waiting forever, mentally thrashing about trying to understand an opaque, frustrating system. I'll probably reach out to the dealership tomorrow after all the week's scheduling data is out so I can hopefully get something resembling details on where things stand.

How much do you bug your dealer?

I see too many showing up to dealer lots with 360+ to think that's the current problem.
Probably not often enough. I always trust it’s on the go & check in on occasion, but I probably need to start bugging him a little more.

I already kind of feel like the old guy on his lawn in a bathrobe yelling at clouds. It's only been nine days.

You’re about like me, both for order time & pestering. Ordered 11/6.
I ordered BL and everything but the moonroof, so that’s where I figured it must be some chip somewhere holding things up.

Yes. BS BL + PP and CoPilot Assist+. So all the chips and there was a brief hold on the 2.0L engines, though that appears to be over at the moment.

The video early in the thread said PP was a major problem. I just have CMS and Assist+ so hopefully I can get scheduled with minimum delays. My dealer is holding out hope for May, but we'll see.

Read that too on one of the various threads here. Pending day, time, thread, have read a hold up could be due to any of these: Badland, 2.0L, Moonroof, Premium Package, Trailer Tow (chip involved with stability control?), Ford CO-PILOT 360 ASSIST +\
At one time read that even the Cargo Management System was a culprit.
I selected all but the moonroof for my build.

For the Badlands the three "packages" available are the premium, tow, and 360+, so the terminology matters on this.
You are correct. The dealers do use the phrase "360" or "360+".
I was just reading about Ford Co-Pilot 360 2.0. There is no end to it.

I ordered my Badlands at the end of October. Arrived at the dealer a week ago. No premium or 360+, but included tow and cargo management. At the time, I was told 360+ was a constraint. Based on what I’ve witnessed in the chip world, it’s not an all or nothing thing. Batches get released and distributed. They use what they can and try to build complete vehicles. The less you have the better your chances. But, I’d say order what you want. Some things are difficult if not impossible or really expensive to add later.

In the latest episode Tim The Ford Guy mentions a few things (I hope I got it right)
  • There are 6 more months of 2020 model production. If you have a "scheduled build date" your vehicle is expected to be produced in the 2022 model year.
  • Dealer stock allocations will not be a priority through the month of may.
    • Customer orders will be priority
When it comes to shipping vehicles without parts there will be two ways this is handled. (Do not ask me about engine covers)
  1. Recall Shortage: Missing parts will be handled like a recall. Ford will invite you back to the dealer like a recall and install the part.
  2. Drop Shortage: You just don't get the part and this is noted on the Window Sticker with a note and credit($).
New Explorers are coming off the line in Chicago with a blank cover on the rear temperature control panel along with this on the window sticker:

REAR AUXILIARY CLIMATE CREDIT ($50)
