I drove a Focus(ST) since 2018 and a Dodge Caliber(SRT4) before that so I'm right at home then. Every couple weeks or so I break out the 96 Celica GT convertable and take it for a spin.

Now don't get your feathers ruffled...After enthusiastically talking about my Bronco Sport (and pending delivery), I was told (multiple times), that it's a "chick" car. ?
I'm a "chick" and I take offense to that! Rude.
So that’s why I saw so many in Boulder.Cars are designed with target markets in mind. The first thing an automaker considers when developing a new model is, "who is this car for?" Ford may have perceived that there was a demographic who wasn't being served by other automaker's offerings. If this demographic includes women, then that's just a business decision. Nothing wrong with understanding your customer.
I can attest that the BS appeals to women. When I first got my BS, people would stop me and ask about it. At least half of those people were women. About half of the other drivers I see in Bronco Sports are women. Also, I see a lot of women driving Camaros and Jeep Wranglers. Does that make those "chick cars?"
If people think the BS is a "chick car" because it doesn't have impractical 35" tires and a 350 HP engine, then that's fine with me. I'm a man who drives a "chick car" and I couldn't care less what anyone else thinks. Some consider the Mazda Miata to be a "chick car". I've owned two, despite the fact that I'm 6'3". I bought them because they are fun as heck to drive.
There's a stereotype that Subarus are "lesbian cars". In fact, this is 100% true. Subaru saw a population that wasn't being served, and they marketed to them. They were extremely successful. Here's the fascinating story behind it: https://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2016/06/how-subarus-came-to-be-seen-as-cars-for-lesbians/488042/
I'm sure I'm compensating for something, I'm just not sure what it is.

I actually had a lot of fun with my Econ bachelors! Most of it not in class however… ?So that’s why I saw so many in Boulder.
And if the sport is perceived that way by some I’m not bothered. Got my bachelors in psych…and Econ, guess which courses I had more fun in?
A few years ago I got my MPH and my colleagues were like 75% women, didn’t care then either.
Im perfectly happy with my car and would quiet honestly be embarrassed to drive a lifted Chevy because people would be assuming I have knubin
True fact, most embarrassing car I’ve driven? Dodge Challenger and it’s not even close. Felt actual discomfort driving that thing.
