If anyone is interested in swapping out their tweeters and would like to purchase a speaker harness adapter, send me a PM and let me know. I am currently building speaker harness adapters for the full size bronco speakers, and these are just a variation on them. I could begin building and selling them in less than a week if there's interest.

I secured mine in the cargo area with two strips of 2" wide velcro, and it holds quite well. I have to use both hands and my weight to pull it off.

Ford Bronco Sport Installing aftermarket speakers and sub in Bronco Sport! IMG_20210625_080423413
Where did you tap the speaker wire and did you write down the wiring colors by chance? Thanks!

I tapped into the driver side rear speaker. Since I was replacing the speakers also. you won't believe how cheap the factory speakers are. Can't remember the wire colors, they were multicolor if I remember correctly. I followed the wires from the speaker to the center pillar, and from there I tapped into it and ran a length of wire to the Sub.

Just a suggestion here, and I’m not sure how or if it applies to the BS, for you guys adding subs.
Be mindful of which channel you connect to for signal to the sub. Ever notice on a factory system the more you turn the volume up the less bass there is? That’s because the stock HU is pulling bass to keep the speakers from distorting. From my experience, the rear channels get more bass pulled out than the front channels.
An example of this is when I wanted to add an aftermarket sub to my 2015 F350 Platy with the factory Sony stereo. I was happy with the system for the most part except for lack of bass. I’m not 22 anymore so didn’t want the windows to rattle but I do like to hear the bass drum kicking. I decided to keep all of the factory system and just replace the factory 8” sub with a JL 8w3V3 in the factory enclosure and a 170w Kenwood amp. Going with a small sub means you have to be efficient with the setup to get all the sound possible. On top of that I wasn’t driving the sub to max power and I didn’t have the optimal enclosure.
After installation using a rear channel for input to the amp, I found this setup was hardly better than factory and was very disappointed. After much googling and reading on the subject I found that, in that truck with that system, most all of the bass was pulled out of the rear speakers by 1/4 volume. Can’t hear bass if the bass signal isn’t there! The front channels however, have little to no bass pulled as the volume goes up. Turns out, Ford doesn’t care what the music sounds like in the back seat. The front seating area is where they try to make it sound good. That’s also why there usually tends to be better/bigger speakers up front. After switching my amp input signal to a front channel, big difference! At times I can’t believe it “only” an 8” sub back there. Sounds about as good as the old Rockford Fosgate 12” I used in my Mustangs years ago.
Moral of the story is, if you install a system and are disappointed, try a different channel for signal before you start upgrading your already upgraded system. Of course this assumes using factory HU…
Does anyone know if Ford rolls off the bass for the B&O sub? I would like to connect the high speaker wires from the B&O sub to a LOC then RCA to a spare tire sub.

Figured this might be easier than removing rear or front door panels and the signal would be better suited for just a powered sub. Never tried any car audio mods but Flash3x's post was super helpful.

Thanks, I was hoping that post would be helpful to someone!

On my truck, bass was being pulled from the sub channel as well. The front channels gets bass pulled too but seems like not as much as the rears or sub channel. The Super Duty’s being as popular as they are, I was able to find a wealth of information on the Sony sound system online.

Honestly, knowing what I know now, I probably could have left the factory sub, added a dedicated amp, used a front channel for input, and been happy with the improvement in output. Live and learn. The JL sub does sound great, as JL equipment always has so no regrets.

Again, this applies to my truck. I have not investigated the B&O system and how it operates. We do have our Badlands now but it “belongs” to my wife so doubt I’ll be doing many upgrades any time soon.

Interesting, thanks! Does front channel mean front speakers? If so, I might just do the same.

Also just found this for a good read. He mixed the sub and rear speaker wires to the LOC.

Yes, the front speakers gave the best overall curve in the truck. Going on assumptions, I would guess Ford would treat most vehicle sound systems the same., but that is assumption not fact.

Since there is not much info out there on the BS yet, and at the cost of making unnecessary splices, if I were going to do an upgrade in our BS, and I absolutely had to know the best channel to pull a source from, I would install the amp and sub and then try the front, back, and sub channel. I’d leave all amp and HU setting flat and see what channel gave me the best bass response.

Or…..just hook the amp up to the easiest to access channel and if you are happy with the sound leave it alone and enjoy! My earlier suggestion was for the people that can’t quite get the sound they are looking for as they turn the volume up. Using a different signal source might just be enough to get them where they want to be.

For what it's worth, I got a pair of Kenwood KFC-651 coaxial speakers for the front doors and did not have any issues with depth. They fit back doors as well. I was impatient and didn't want to order the install brackets so I made my own out of a 3/16 inch piece of plastic. Took half an hour to make and turned out fine. The speakers fit with a small amount of gap between the magnet and the back of the molded brace in the back of the hold on the door.

For sound, I know these aren't high-end speakers, but for $80 I got a nice improvement over stock. What I noticed the most was crisper highs and mids. No noticeable improvement in bass. The sub will handle that.

Did these work?
They did work out great! They were indeed a direct fit with the correct adapter on them (plug &play) I found a local audio installation store and they installed all 4 speakers for $140. Night and day difference in sound quality. I could not believe how light and cheap feeling/looking the Ford speakers are. I am more than happy with the PowerBass speakers.

The above YouTube clip shows how to get to the radio. It’s pretty extensive though. They buried it deep. I’m installing 2 amps soon and I’m not looking forward to removing everything.

Going to swap out speakers this weekend. Took a quick look on break and can get front driver panel off easy enough. The two connectors for the windows pop out easily but I had trouble with the other ones. Do I need to disconnect both to get to speaker if can I get away with leaving them connected? Or do those connectors pop out easy? I tried the lock on but seems to be little different from the window control ones.

EDIT: Job done. Installed the Pioneer TS-D65F D-Series today. They sound excellent. Had to play Tsunami by DVBBS to try them out. So good. One tip, put the screw behind the reflector back on first, if it drops behind the panel you’ll need to undo all the others to retrieve it!
