Was driving the Escape down the highway today. Something fell off and bounced a few times then disappeared off the side of the road. It still ran and drove so most not have been too important! This Badlands can’t come too soon!

After realizing I would not be getting built any time soon, I decided to see if there was a BL in the vicinity. I feel like I hit the jackpot. I was able to talk them down a bit on the mark up and they gave me more for my trade in, so that helped make up for it. It has everything I ordered, minus the cargo management system. I actually think I like the carbonized gray (which came with the matching roof . . . not sure how they managed that since you can't order it that way) better than the cactus gray that I had on order. I am so happy and relieved, my trade in had lost $2K in value according to KBB in the last 2 months. Now to cancel the one I ordered . . . I feel guilty, but I know they will make more money if I don't accept delivery so I am doing them a favor, right? Welcome home Juliet, my dad would be so happy I went back to a Ford.

We ordered our Cyber Orange '22 BL on 10/06/21, built on 1/10/22, delivered on 2/04/22. It had PP, 360+ and cargo management system. No tow or moonroof which I think are two factors holding up orders from being scheduled.

Ordered my Bronco Sport Badlands, tow package and 360 plus in late September 2021, it got put in a dirt lot in Mexico for the chip shortage. The car was built last week? Estimated delivery to the dealer late March. So about 7 months if I’m lucky.

Had 1st Edition Bronco Sport 2021 but in MVC
My Badlands with all packages (minus tow) and moonroof was ordered early September and in Production since early December. My dealer thought that it was made and ready to be shipped early January; my delivery date was 2/09 up until today when it changed to 3/04. So frustrating! Especially since I had a First Edition that was totaled by a moron who did a u-turn into my vehicle one month after I received it last June!!!!

Congrats!

I'm sure the dealer you ordered from will be more than happy to cancel your order and slap $thousands onto the MSRP.

Did you put down a deposit?

How many miles were on the BL when you bought it?

Hi all just ordered a BS Badlands with all options for $300 over msrp but dealer is saying up to 6 months because it’s a Badlands….could it be?
Wow, they are charging you $300 over MSRP on a order? I'd find another dealer. Even some of the dealers around by me that are charging $$ ADM on stock units are charging MSRP for orders.

Totally agree, the dealer will be more than happy to cancel your order and make some extra $$, kind of like the one you bought. Don't feel guilty!

Good point about the deposit. Hopefully you can get that back if you had one.

I like the gray roof. I would have ordered it if possible on my Carbonized Gray Sport.

$500 deposit on the order....I assume I can get it back. If they give me a hard time i could just take delivery of it and sell it myself, right? I'd really prefer not to contribute to price gouging though.

The one I bought was new.

I understood that the BL you purchased is new, I was just curious how much (if any) it had been driven. It's common for 'new' vehicles to have a couple hundred miles on them, and I've seen some for sale 'new' with over 1,000 miles!

You could certainly take delivery of the BL you ordered, but going through that process and then reselling it would be a lot of trouble -- especially if you did not "maximize profit".

Good on you for not being focused on the money. As buyers, none of us want to pay over MSRP. In the 'before times' it as common to buy an ordinary vehicle for somewhere between sticker and invoice.

Needless to say, the current market is different.

Price gouging is usually defined as a seller taking advantage of a monopoly and/or shortages -- like the one store in town selling bottled water for $10 per gallon after a hurricane came through.

I'm the last one to defend auto dealers, but as much as I don't like ADM -- I've run into it several times over the years -- unless their franchise agreement says differently, they are free to try and sell a car for whatever they can get (openly, with no fraud or deception). There are always other dealers, other models, and other mfrs buyers can do business with.

Most of us, when we're selling something -- a normal sale, not baby formula in a refuge camp -- want to get as much as we can.

That's my long-winded way of saying that I don't think anyone should feel bad for asking 'market price' for a BS -- or any other vehicle. If it's sold for under market value, the new owner may just flip it.

Lastly -- if you paid your deposit ith a credit card, and the dealer gives you any trouble, you can dispute the charge. In my experience the card company will go to bat for you.

After my test drive there were 54 miles on it. The listing said 5 miles.

Their mark up was $7k...I said no way, they brought it down to $5k, I still said no way. Max I was willing to pay is $3k over (and that made me cringe) and they just gave me an extra $2k for my trade in to make up for it. I told them that I completely understood why they are doing it but I have one on order that is not marked up. Not sure why they tried so hard with me...the next person probably would have paid more. I read an article that Ford is not happy with all the markups and they're keeping track of who's doing it and their allocation will be affected downstream.
