A good dealer, and a lot of them are not good, would help the customer get the missing part. Even though it is cosmetic if a customer is complaining about the missing piece of plastic dealer should get off their butt and get the issue resolved.IMHO, no, you are not. Disclaimer: I'm not a car guy. I don't view it as mechanical issue. I rather see it as part of sale transaction - if I paid for it then they must deliver it. If it's cosmetic indeed then let me decide if I want it or not, and reduce the price if I choose not to get it.
