I think a survey is in order to see who has the cover & who doesn't . I'm not Computer savvy enough to set one up ,

I cant even believe some of you are saying its not a big deal & telling these people to go purchase one them selves . Maybe the back doors will be next , go out & buy them your selves , just what the heck is wrong with you'all .There are a host of just plain cosmetic covers on all Bronco's , lets just leave them out also . Yes I am over blowing it , but its thew same logic . I want to see a survey of how many are missing .

poll
ask and ye shall receive. I have a few skills. I believe it's in the neighborhood of YTD units produced: 59,703 sports built to this point. *4100 active members, not all have bronco sports at this point. As with most forums/fakebook/tweeters/online anything, this is a small fraction of owners represented. Data may (as any data typically is) be very misleading or have a skew beyond reality

Your Bronco Sport came with doors?

Some might call the hood an engine cover.

one of the selling points of the full bronco is sans doors, roof, fenders, just open air and a lot of free flying fun. All kidding aside they should be completed, but supply issues are cramping a lot of peoples fun without doubt. I consider my build a lucky one. Build on a Wednesday, usually a good omen. Half the guys I've run with through all my years work at various assembly plants, and they said that's legitimate...some days just go much smoother than others. I have some insight in how things go down.

Yeah @fourthgear I get your point man, I do. I’m just saying it’s not like the transmission is bad, or you’re missing major engine parts. It’s nice that you can fix for $70 if you choose. That’s all I’m saying.

Yeah what if they start showing up at dealers without back doors? Then Ford customer service says it not on window sticker.

And I know you have your own frustrations and a sense of humor to dampen it. It's a cosmetic cover...yes it should be there, yep it was paid for. Nope it's not a REAL safety issue concern. Doesn't make it OK to just drop it from builds either.
A few things happened
1) someone in assembly did not add the engine appearance pieces on multiple broncos (many are very upset with delays and bailing on builds...how do you fix that? More delays waiting on a nerf cover?)
2) dealer did NOT handle it with service. Passing the buck or actually rudely saying well it's not on the sticker...that's just bad business and should be reported to Ford HQ. The blue oval certification was their gold standard and required five star customer evals. If they lost that blue oval cert they lose status in orders, place in line for limited production etc...it was a big deal. I'd guess it still is, my dealer requested and received five stars...no hassle and above/beyond service.
3) people are bent out of shape over a nerf cover. Why be so upset...sell it. Make bank in a crazy hot market and buy one of the outstanding and 100% perfect Chevy/Toyota/dodge/Honda/Subaru options that will far outperform a sport missing it's engine cover.
4)continue to raise heck with the dealer and get resolution...why listen to a guy in a forum who considers the part flash and knows little to anything about cars...or I might and just don't agree with everything ? which...is possible.

I just really didn't like Fords CS answer , nor the Dealer coming up with some report on a missing Cover & expecting someone to believe its policy now , thats just not right when everyone should know that all these Engines come with said Cover . Just seems like the Dealer went out of their way to avoid the issue . I also think its crazy to sell something you want because of a missing part , that should be there. Yes ,its probably a supply issue , but thats no way to treat a Customer .

Just waiting to see how that Pole reads .

Time to test drive one with a couple of tools riding shotgun. Bam - problem solved.
:cwl:

Customer to dealer - "What do you mean that there was a engine cover on the Bronco Sport before I test drove it and returned it? Show me where it is listed on the window sticker as coming with one."

You: hi I am Sam Smith and would like to test drive your finest Bronco sport
Dealer : that's fine, we have one out back.. Please present you driver's license.
You : here you are.
< test drive and a stolen engine cover later >
Dealer : hi Sam I hope the drive went OK. I see you that when I entered your info into the system you already took delivery of a Bronco sport two weeks ago.
Why the need to test drives other one?
You : ok, thank you for your time. Good bye.

I finally heard back from my dealer. They sent me a copy of some kind of a factory build sheet for our Bronco Sport called an Oasis report and it clearly shows that it it is built "less engine cover". At this point I am very disappointed in Ford for leaving out parts that I paid for. I have asked my dealer what they are willing to do and I am waiting for a reply. I have 2 Fords that I purchased there and have always used them for my service needs. If they are not willing to help me, there are many other Ford dealers that would like to have my business. We will see...
This reminds me. I checked etis.ford.com and it says mine has "less engine cover" too. I have a feeling my dealer is going to see that in an oasis report and and give me an SOL on this. Though. It does say "under hood" I wonder what etis/oasis calls a hood blanket.

You know...this is pretty shitty from Ford. It seems like there is no communication from Ford directly to the ordering customer. Every time that I have read that the plant will be closed or parts are the problem...I have found out through auto news sites....no e-mail to the ordering customer. You paid for this this when ordered...they deleted it....no communication. I remember seeing the Ford dealer order information sheet updates of what was available for the BS and when or if something changed - like USB adaptor changing out for another type, can't order with moonroof anymore, 18" wheels no longer available, etc. Was the engine cover deleted listed anywhere? Not that I saw. They are skimping out. If parts are on short supply...it should be an IOU to the customer when part(s) becomes available. Am I wrong?

IMHO, no, you are not. Disclaimer: I'm not a car guy. I don't view it as mechanical issue. I rather see it as part of sale transaction - if I paid for it then they must deliver it. If it's cosmetic indeed then let me decide if I want it or not, and reduce the price if I choose not to get it.
