This is a terrible feature for the northern prairies. Normally, if I get snow and ice building up in the wheel well, a few kicks clears them up. With that velcro lining, I hurt my toe trying to kick the ice off, and it still won't budge. Any ideas to prevent that build-up (other than not driving in snow-not an option here) would be helpful! I'm about to try spraying Pam under there!
I can assure you it's a terrible feature for the snow and slush of southern Ontario streets also !

Can I suggest we both get a pair of steel toed work boots for next winter ?

Cheers

A number of manufactures use the fuzzy composite wheelwell liners and the same material for covering portions of the under carriage to reduce road noise and offer some componet protection.
The material is light weight and fairly rugged in most instances, but offroad it's not puncture or rub resistant.

Over 3ft of snow last night here in Sudbury area, all highways closed, even airport was close for a few hours.

we got 6" where I live the other night, but I came home from work on my second day shift and the driveway was already meltied, woke up later the next day for my first night shift and the grass was all bare again. I have been lucky 5 good dumps this year and I haven't had to break out the shovel yet LOL

Someone else wrote about a spray on product that kept the snow and mud from sticking. I don't recall what it was, but if you search the forum, you can probably find it.

That may be the same stuff they sell to keep grass clippings from sticking to the underside of a mower deck. Basically just a silicone spray. Kinda works, but you still gotta keep up with cleaning and reapplication.

We ended up with 37" of snow, deeper where it drifted. They plowed my driveway, staying about 2ft away from my front bumper. The bsbb in off-road mode managed to crawl out of the 2ft long 3ft deep Bank in front of me with very little trouble. I was very impressed.
