The entire dealer model is completely broken, and propped up by frankly appalling laws pushed through at the behest of dealership lobbies. Break that grip and let them compete in a fair marketplace, and let the manufacturers actually hold them accountable when they get out of hand. I don't know of any other franchise model in the US that is permitted to operate the way they do.

So I assume that after my very rural local Ford dealership gets it's comfy chairs, latte machine and muffin toaster installed, my oil change cost will go up? My dealership barely has a paved parking lot and has a customer waiting area with 5 chairs in it. I can't wait to see how this goes!!! Bronco on!

I wouldn't call any of my buying experiences good, but there definitely was a better and worse.

I don't want an "experience". I want a decent human to conduct business and to be treated fairly by the dealership. No sneaky dealer add-ons, no financing games to maximize profits, nor any other tricks or shady business practices. It's not hard to understand.

I agree 100%.

I had a great experience. Salesman was a great dude, made an excellent "deal". It was a very casual experience, and I drove away in my Bronco Sport Big Bend with what I consider a great deal. No BS, no games, just "we'll make it happen" and he did.

If you're in the Phoenix area, I cannot recommend Jim Sommer at Sanderson Ford more highly.

This is saying "we made your waiting room better while you get your 9 recalls done"......Just make better cars Ford. I feel like the only great engines are the 5.0 and 2.3L

I’d add the 2.7L to that list.

As a former small aka Select Dealer - it seems Ford doesn't want small town dealers anymore as these updates will cost a lot and most if not all smaller dealerships will not have room for the "huge" greeter area

The subprime mortgage crisis closed many dealers in small towns across Texas. There aren’t many true small town dealers left today. I suspect it was the same in other states.

I've bought the last 4 or 5 Vehicles from the same Salesman and He's been great every time. I really like the Dealership He works at because He was the only person I talked with and did all the dealing. And no managers were involved like some dealerships.

Rather than focusing on improving product quality and reliability to attract customers, Ford is using "hospitality" as a way to entice customers to spend more $ and overlook poor product quality. What is the ROI for both Ford and the dealership for the makeover?

If you put lipstick on a pig, it's still a pig.

I search for a vehicle on line, call my sales person and give them the VIN, pick up the vehicle in 2 days. I don't plan on taking multiple trips to the dealership during my ownership to sit in the lobby.

That's the same thing I've done on the last 3 vehicles F-150,BS BB and the Maverick I have now I got from the same dealership and salesman. Made the deal the day before and picked them up the next day In and Out in less than an 1 hour.

Are cam phasers still an issue?
Same generation, so it's possible, but a quick search didn't show up much in the last couple/few years.

If you happen to be in Las Vegas, go towards Henderson and visit Ford Country Dealership. Has a real 50s diner inside, along with lot of other great features.
