Getting my tires rotated and my mechanic calls me over to look at my rear brake pads. A 21k miles I'm down to about 3mm, so it's time. Rotors not needed, I just want good quality Ceramic pads, for the rear, of my Badlands. I don't tow or need extra stoping power but I would like to eliminate that ocosional moan when backing up and a little less dust wouldn't hurt.

Looking over the Tire Racks selection but willing to get them elsewhere.

i agree with @cprcubed i swapped all 4 caliper bushings with the damond motorsports bushings even though the rear brake moan was not present on our 2024. it was there on our 21 and dont want it to ever re appear. also the braking on this car is lack luster. i also went with the Powerstop Z36 i believe they are the same compound as the Z32 but they also have a metal backing plate.

rock auto seems to have the best price and availability. remember to put the car into brake maintenance mode or whatever. i have a caliper compressing tool that rotates the piston but not sure if it needs to be rotated or not on these.

I had great success with the ceramic pads Oriellys carries.

Similar situation. Was at about 23,000 miles a month ago. Rear pads were getting there....probably could have gone another 5,000-10,000 miles but figured it was easy and one less thing to worry about so I installed Power Stop Z16 pads and have no complaints. I have never experienced the noise in reverse issue, either before or after the pad change. NOTE: I did not need to rotate the pistons. I used brake maintenance mode and simply pushed the pistons back in using "conventional" methods.

Thank you and everyone else who replied. I went Brain dead and forgot about Rock Auto and have had previous experience with Akebono ceramics, I decided to go with their ACT1665 ProACT Ceramic. It was also the A.I. suggestion when I searched. TR was out of them when I searched earlier.

I haven't decided on the Diamond Motorsport Bushings.

Maybe see if the new pads solve the issue. Kind of a PITA to go back in for rework, but it could save some $$$ if the bushings aren't needed. Cheers!

For me, it would be Powerstop Z23 or Z36 (not sure if I need those). I've never had the rear brake moan on mine, but other folks have reported that the FORD ESCAPE and BRONCO SPORT 2013-2024 Brake Caliper Bushings — Damond Motorsports have eliminated the moan. Cheers!
Yes I highly recomend the Powerstop ceramic pads. I coupled them with Powerstop slotted and drilled rotors on all 4 wheels of my 06 PT Cruiser Route 66 Edition. Combined with the standard yellow calipers they look great at car shows plus they still stop on a dime after 8 years on the PT. Even my Atomic stops. 😅
