for comparison sake, something i am personally curious about, does anyone think a Subaru with CVT would’ve done fine with same conditions? ‘fine’ as in doing everything done in these reviews as well as not overheat.

mostly curious bc i was cross shopping between the two. personally, overheating wouldn’t bother me too much if it only happens when i’m full sending it in sand / slippery conditions. but it would be kind of embarrassing if i’m with a group on the trail and would have to wait for me lol

a garage door opener when you can overnight one from amazon?

looks like not even a month old and people are asking Ford to turn the bronco sport into a more lux road focused crossover like they did with the escape. Starting with requests to remodel the interior
I meant a built-in GDO. (Not a separate dongle. I know I can get one from amazon. :))

I love the interior otherwise; adding a small GDO and a better feeling steering wheel is hardly a remodel of the interior.

you can get a leather steering wheel on the bronco sport. What your asking for is Ford to focus lux equipment as standard instead of focusing on rugged off-road features standard.

It’s starts with customers complaining about the interior not lux enough/wanting power lift gate/then more aerodynamics for better mpg. I hope Ford doesn’t listen to you folks. Another reason to buy year one model
I am not asking Ford to replace/eliminate any off road stuff by asking for a GDO. It is not a "luxury" item these days; more of a normal cpnvenience item and it will not destroy the ruggedness of the Sport.
It'd be nice to have, and not need to fiddle with a separate dongle. If i can't have both I would still choose the ruggedness over the GDO

I highly doubt the B/S off road features will be taken off just after an year just because people wondered about a GDO or a leather wrapped steering wheel. That's such a dramatic scenario to imagine.
I do NOT want a power liftgate, never felt the need for one.

cars are becoming lux as norm. The bronco sport is going against the norm by offering a vehicle more rugged than normal which is appreciated by many.

The new gen of escape IS a dramatic remodel the former gens. No one expects these next gen scenarios (Chevy blazer) but they start with manufactures trying to satisfy the wrong people. Get a discovery sport please. And allow the bronco sport to be what it is. Rugged standard with a few lux options not the other way around
I think heated steering wheel/seats, remote start, Apple carplay, wireless charging pad, moonroof etc are a lot more "lux" than a simple GDO.... The B/Sport already has those as options (or standard, depending on trim), right? And have they destroyed the ruggedness of the B/Sport ?? NO!

You keep misunderstanding me (and being very close to attacking me) over and over.

And I will decide which car to buy, Thanks!

modern tech that are considered "lux" items by many. It just didn't fit your argument so now you call them "modern tech". (heated steering wheel and seats... modern tech??)

AND, How is a simple GDO a more "lux" item than the ones I listed?? LOL

I have even posted repeatedly about the need for a moonroof DELETE option so that the roof has more structural strength. Does that sound like I want MORE lux items than what it already has ??

And this is my last response to you. You were one one of the best posters when this forum started and i loved your posts. IDK what is going on but your posts are very attacking and weird lately. I will not respond to your posts aimed at me from now on.

Sigh...

It is ONE tiny feature that does NOT ruin the Sport as a rugged SUV! quality OR quantity-wise. Can't you just get it? (I think you do, but you choose not to)

Apologies to all others (and mods) on this thread for taking it off topic.

Okay kids, let’s lighten up and play nice. All I want is to see VIN for my BL + BL with a springtime build date so I can make my own observations. So far I ain’t seen nothin’ yet.

I agree. There is too much sadness and stress in the world right now so we don't need to be fighting here. The Bronco Sport is a wonderful vehicle and so far, the people who have received them are very happy. I have yet to hear of a single new owner regret their purchase.

At the same time, there ARE unanswered questions, and no one should be trying to make statements of fact until the answers are known. This is the same for any new build vehicle, not just the BS. I have recently gravitated away from the BS for several reasons myself, but the main reason involves sponsorship potential with other manufacturers and the lack of crash safety data.

Ford marketing never returned a single inquiry, while Honda and GMC replied within a week. Honda is very receptive and they even "called" me back within 24 hours. I'd have a hard time driving / promoting a vehicle on TV shows and in social media were the manufacturer was not "in the game."

Happy holidays and lets just get along!

they started it! ? If this is still a question by February I’ll test this myself when I get mine
My great grandfather, Benjamin Garagestein, did not dedicate his entire life to practical large openings on buildings with easily retractable walls so that you could slander him and the subsequent technology that revolutionized everyone’s lives.

Are you referring to the passport from Honda? I had completely forgot about it. That would be a good comparison to see.

And in the “just too funny” column, the lux package for the big Bronco has a universal garage door opener... you know the truck that will probably be too tall to fit in in some garages. ?

No, they may be working with me on the new (2021) Ridgeline. Either the Type-R or the Blacked out edition. They won't say there is a "Type-R" (and likely not) but it's my preference. The 2021 has the new front end design, that looks a lot more intimidating. It's a top pick with Car and Driver and had excellent reviews, hitting all the marks. We could also add a tactical bed and roof racks. I seriously doubt they would give us a free vehicle, as that is not what I am seeking, but they are receptive to getting us a vehicle ASAP in the the spring at a reduced "production" cost in return for promotion. The Ford Timberline Explorer is also a possibility, but Ford is delaying anything groovy right now so they don't compete with the BS / Big Bronco.

Why don’t you just get a myQ system and use the app on your phone to open the garage?

"The hardcore Rock Crawl mode was employed only as needed; same with the rear locker. As it's not a true mechanical locking differential, the latter will overheat if you leave it on constantly and the computer will reduce engine power to cool it, but you don't need it most of the time, anyway."

I guess for me, it's really going to come down to how long it can go and how hard it can be pushed until it shuts off. I get that it's not a true 4x4, and I don't think anyone is expecting it to be one. But it'd be nice to know exactly what the limitation is, so bad situations can be avoided. Does anyone have a vehicle manual yet? I'm curious what it says about the rear locker.

I'm sure we'll know a lot more by July, when the temps have risen and people have been out there pushing them and finding those limits.
