Edited for conciseness.

Recall 25S76 / 25V467 is currently listed as requiring a PCM software update.
• CSP 22N18 is still active for high-pressure fuel injector replacement.
Here’s why the remedy appears to have changed:
• Initially, the root cause of the concern was thought to require mechanical replacement of the fuel injectors.
• After further testing and data analysis across affected vehicles, Ford has determined that a PCM software update can adjust injector timing and pressure parameters to mitigate the issue safely for most vehicles.
• This doesn’t eliminate CSP 22N18; rather, the CSP remains in place for vehicles that cannot be corrected by software alone or that show certain mechanical symptoms.
So in short: the software update is an interim or primary remedy for vehicles where it is sufficient. If your Bronco Sport exhibits symptoms that require physical injector replacement, the CSP 22N18 still applies.
Next steps you can take:

  1. Contact your local Ford dealer and reference Recall 25S76 / 25V467 and CSP 22N18. They can check whether your VIN qualifies for the software-only update or requires injector replacement.
  2. Bring any documentation of prior notifications; this helps the dealer confirm the latest remedy.
  3. If you experience any concerns with engine performance before your scheduled service, note them so the dealer can fully evaluate your vehicle.
When you bring your Bronco Sport in next weekend for Recall 25S76 / 25V467, the dealer will perform the PCM software update first. Here’s how it works: • After the update, the vehicle’s fuel injectors will be monitored by the updated control software to see if the timing and pressure adjustments correct the issue. • If the software update results in proper injector performance and engine function, no further mechanical action is needed. • If the update does not fully correct the symptoms, the dealer will proceed with the CSP 22N18 high-pressure fuel injector replacement. This ensures that the remedy meets Ford’s safety and performance standards. In other words, the software update is the first step, and mechanical replacement is still available if necessary.

Which engine is this for?

When we bought our BS, I told my girl no way she was getting the smaller engine. She thought I was being selfish because I wanted the one with more power and while there was some truth to that, the main reason was to avoid the issues I see in PTS regarding the 1.5L.

I bought a '23 OBX. The Badlands had ridiculous market adjustments in '23. I sold the '23 after a few months. Recalls, fuel injector Ford bandaid fix, members here on the road dead, seeing RDU problems here now and other issues here. I sold it to Carvana with a leaking water pump. I never had any confidence with that engine. The 2.0L has been pretty solid over the years. I had a Linc MKC with the 2.0L and never had any issues.

1.5 owner here, no issues about to hit 60k. I do follow the severe maintenance schedule religiously and also moved away from 5w20 to 5w30 oil. Only use Shell gas.

I'm sure you and many others have had no issues. It reminds me of the Clint Eastwood line...
The famous line is a misquote from Clint Eastwood's character, Inspector Harry Callahan, in the 1971 film Dirty Harry, where he says, "Well, this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world and will blow your head clean off. You've got to ask yourself a question: 'Do I feel lucky?' Well, do ya, punk?"

I never felt lucky. :)

the 1.5 represents 95% of all BS sold…you are a lot more inclined to find issues with such a huge disparity…

the 2.0 has its own set of problems but you gotta go explore the Maverick forum to find them.

I did explore and nearly all are misinformed non issues

Big difference with documented TSBs, Recalls vs. owner mostly non-issues for the 2.0L used in ‘21-24 and ‘25 Bronco Sports

Now … about the 8F35 transmission…
The trans needs fluid changes. The 150k miles is a joke.

The Ford 8F35 transmission is an 8-speed automatic transmission used in various Ford and Lincoln vehicles, including the Ford Edge, Ford Escape, Ford Bronco Sport, and Ford Maverick. It's an 8-speed version of the older 6F35, co-developed with General Motors and derived from GM's 9T50 9-speed transmission. The 8F35 is known for its use of an external Powertrain Control Module (PCM) for controlling shifts and lockup, as well as a unique solenoid control strategy.

Here's a more detailed look:
Key Features:
  • 8-Speed Automatic:
The transmission offers eight forward gears and one reverse gear, designed for light-duty front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive applications.

    • Co-Developed with GM:
The 8F35 is a product of Ford and General Motors' collaboration, sharing design elements with GM's 9T50 transmission.
    • PCM Control:
The transmission's operation is managed by an external Powertrain Control Module, which controls shift timing, shift feel, and lockup.
    • Unique Solenoid Control:
The 8F35 uses a unique solenoid control strategy that involves pulse-width modulated solenoids without fluid flowing through them.

    • Fluid Type:
It uses Mirkon ULV (Ultra Low Viscosity) fluid, and regular fluid changes are recommended to maintain the transmission's health.

    • Internal Filter:
The 8F35 has an internal filter that's not easily serviceable, making regular fluid changes crucial to prevent clogging.

    • Applications:
It's found in various Ford and Lincoln models, including the 2019+ Ford Edge (when paired with a four-cylinder engine), 2020+ Ford Escape, Ford Bronco Sport, Ford Maverick, and Lincoln counterparts.

This is exactly what I was warned about by a few Ford master techs I know. Bought ours CPO with only 8,800 miles, so hopefully we got one of the good ones.

FWIW... 1.5L here too and follow maintenance religiously, 93 gas from Top Tier stations and keep it under 70MPH.

At 40k, I just had ATF fluid changed. Both diff fluids, ATF filter, Turbo oil screen filter, and transfer case.

I've never had an engine light on. I also keep it in normal mode 80% of the time. Luck I guess?

Just had my ATF and ATF filter changed at 40k as well as the turbo oil filter. Also added 1oz:1qt ratio of Lubegard Platinum to the ATF
