Not sure we haven't messed with it too much in that way. Just know when its hot outside it doesn't work thats about it
Probably should let the tech know - could send the tech down a totally different path

When its working it doesn't tend to just shut off. Its usually just off when I start the vehicle and then takes a while after driving for it to usually turn on

Hey so actually I wanna change the number we ordered i could have sworn it was the b but it looks like it was m1pz 19980 f
Please check the paperwork from the dealership and see what HVAC control module part # was replaced

you have a 2021 which could have the digital temperature on the dial(s)

Should have been one of these that’s applicable to your vehicle

M1PZ-19980-A w/Dual Zone Temp Ctrl.; w/o Heated Steering Wheel. Dual zone AC

M1PZ-19980-B w/Dual Zone Temp Ctrl.; w/Heated Steering Wheel. Dual zone AC

M1PZ-19980-C w/o heated seat. Bronco Sport; w/o Dual Zone Temp Ctrl.

M1PZ-19980-D w/heated seats. Bronco Sport; w/o Dual Zone Temp Ctrl

F superceded the B part
M1PZ-19980-F

Does this exactly match what you have in your 2021 Outerbanks?

Bronco Sport; w/Dual Zone Temp Control; w/Heated Steering Wheel. Dual zone AC, w/heated steering.

I sorta half expected it would be working when you start the vehicle and would stop later while driving which also relates to possible vibration of an electrical component as a source of the issue

But sitting at temps at or above 75°F for a while then starting the vehicle, hvac is not working but starts working later while driving fits with the possible causes I posted many messages ago (and could be vibration related as well)

Will be good to know if the tech (or you) finds that a low temp (75-85°F heat gun or hair dryer) applied to the exterior ambient temperature sensor or to the interior ambient temperature sensor or to the hvac module itself (from the knob’s side) will cause a working hvac to demonstrate the inoperable hvac condition you experience.

Ya its guess I should have specified that from the beginning its only when starting

Does the whole panel not have any power, including the ambient backlighting at night? The lighting comes from another source. The control function is tied one module, the lights to BCM.
The back lighting is also out when the problem acures so no power what so ever

2021 Bronco Sport Outer Banks
On SAT, AUG 30, the HVAC System in my 2021 Bronco Sport Outer Banks stopped blowing cool air. AC light was on, but all the air flow was warm. Everything else within the HVAC Control Module seemed to be working correctly, just no cold air. Finally got an appointment to have the system checked out by a Ford Tech today and just got a call from the Service Advisor regarding the Bronco Sport. According to the Service Tech that worked on the SUV, the HVAC Control Module has failed and doesn't send a signal to the Compressor to turn on even though the light is on on the module. They say the entire HVAC Control Module has to be replaced and the new Module won't arrive until FRI, SEP 12. Only good thing about this is the repair is covered by the extended warranty that came with the Ford Certified vehicle & it's only going to cost me the $100 deductible. WHEW!

According to the Service Advisor, this is the first failure of the HVAC Control Module they've seen on a Bronco Sport. Service Advisor did say that assuming the part arrives FRI, I'll get the SUV back that afternoon.

Lucky you it’s not that hot … here the AC goes on early March and maybe by December we can turn it off

Well the Ford Service Tech installed the new HVAC Control Module but the system still only blows hot air. Now they say there is a signal to the Compressor (which didn't exist before) but they suspect the compressor is bad. And according to the Service Dept, the compressor is on back order, so no telling when the Outer Banks get repaired.

I told the Service Advisor to have the Tech re-install all the interior trim & I would pick up the Bronco Sport. No point is letting them hold the SUV when I don't know when or if the replacement compressor arrives. Naturally, when I picked up the Bronco Sport, a piece of the trim located just below the HVAC Control Module is not installed properly. And a day later, my wife found a trim screw in her footwell that apparently had fallen out somewhere above. Absolutely shoddy service work! I Am told by the Service Advisor that both of these issues will be adressed whe I bring the Bronco Sport back for replacing the HVAC Compressor.

My 2021 Gold Certified Bronco Sport Outer Banks is slowly turning into a Ford POS SUV! But it is good to know that Ford employees in Michigan get to relocate to a brand new building for all their good work!
