Yeah love my 25. It's a perfect size fits in my garage even with the bar on it. I hope they don't change it to much either, but we all know how @Ford is with things? still love them though lol.
Not just Ford, literally every automaker and every model that gets "updated" over time.

There is always the tendency to make the next version bigger. Very few models stay generally true to their initial concept as it evolves over the years.

The Mazda Miata and Jeep Wrangler are of a few that have evolved since they were introduced, but they are still generally true their original concepts. The Kia Soul is another that has evolved, but not really changed.

I could go for this.
Why Ford doesn’t bring it to the US market is beyond me. I mean, the Ranger is fairly useless as is (for my use case, anyway), may as well finish the job and enclose the whole thing.

Long wheelbase doesn't off-road well ***... unless you jack it to the sky.

***except for rock climbing but this is not the SUV for that

Unlike what some imports do, like Hyundai, I strongly suspect the next generation Bronco Sport will be evolutionary rather than radically different. It will be immediately recognizable.

Sometimes a refresh doesn’t come off. I might well be in the minority, but I don’t care for the front end refresh they gave the Ranger. It looks chunky and clunky. I much prefer the previous design.

My main complain is the ranger lost it's appeal ... I had the old 2010 V6 ranger ... gas hog but reliable and affordable.

Now I'm not interested in the ranger... it is almost F150 size and forget about the price they lost the touch...

Things evolve. I think any of us could point to something we liked in the past, but aren’t enamoured with the current version. That said I remember really liking the idea and look of the old Bronco II, but candidly the current Bronco Sport is far better in overall execution than the Bronco II could ever hope to be.

I prefer less tech in a vehicle and thats become impossible now. What is considered a “base model” today is very different today than it was twenty years ago.

The Maverick today is the first real sign that “smaller” trucks can sell today if you do it right. So the question is what else might come out of this? Could we see smaller trucks with some variety as the F150 in configurations? The current Ranger got rid of the Crew Cab version and now has only the Super Cab body style available.

Tech is fine but why the large cab trend?

I miss the time where you could have a 8ft bed on a Ranger...

Why maverick doesn't have a 8ft bed or even a 6ft bed (minimum IMO)?

Where are the affordable workhorse?

All I see is 60k+ trucks

I think the big cab is a reflection of the fact that trucks today are no longer just work vehicles. They’re dressed up with all kinds of features just like sedans were and still are. They’re not just for construction, farms or just hauling stuff anymore.

The big trucks of today are the result of the Big 3 manufacturers getting around the CAFE standards for cars and pure greed of serious profit margins. They marketed the hell out of these things as being superior to cars like sedans. But it’s all hype as fullsize trucks today don’t need to be the size they are when the fullsize trucks of 10-20 years ago could easily to the same job. In an odd way it’s like the horsepower wars of the 1960s—how much power did you really need? So today how big does a vehicle really need to be before it’s more about style and image than about what you actually need?

These big pickups and SUVs are sold on the image of “tough hard work” and ”serious off-road capability” even though most of them will pretty much never be used that way. There is a lot of self-image tied to these things.

I, like many people, have quite a few neighbours with these big rigs and very few of them are ever used as advertised. Thats a lot of wasted purchase price, gas and insurance premiums for something that makes you feel big.

It looks like the Ford Everest. Maybe they'll bring it to the US. Its in between the size of the BS and the Explorer. But was never sold here.

It’s based on the Ranger. Same platform (T6), which is also shared with the full size Bronco.
