the difference is aero for race cars is engineered to work. simply sticking some plastic fins on from pep boys will do nothing. especially considering the amount of drag created underneath the body of the sport as well as its overall brick shape.

They don’t work.

if you hit a deer it’s not because you didn’t have those stupid deer whistles. It’s because it was most likely in the late hours of the day when deer tend to be more way more active. Or in the fall when they’re in rut.
during RUT their behavior completely changes.

stupid gimmick products
having fog lights doesn’t allow you to drive in fog
Having rain tires doesn’t mean you won’t hydroplane
Having all-wheel-drive doesn’t mean you can drive or stop on ice
luck doesn’t equal success
i could go on

It’s astounding how people buy into stupid gimmicks on vehicles and actually think they work.

Don’t install these and expect immunity.

i actually seen a newer subaru outback like 2018? the other day that also had these mounted to the hood but toward the A pillar on the back of the hood. i was surprised someone else displayed them so proudly. laughed and almost took a picture to post here.

I get your point; these devices do not make you invincible. That said, fog lights are extremely helpful when driving in fog at night; and AWD can mean the difference between getting somewhere and getting stuck when driving in icy conditions.

I never once struck a deer in all the years I drove. I am very aware of deer rut and hours they tend to be out around the roads. As far as ice/snow, good snow tyres will help stop a bit better do to the larger foot print and better traction (physics 101). I personally, always had a full automatic locking differential and studded tyres for I live Atlantic Canada where we get a lot of freezing rain. The best 4x4 is useless here without such a setup. One must drive accordingly during the winters but this goes without saying! The benefit of deer whislers has not been proven nor disproven by research. However, it is cheap insurance (my insurance company reduced my premium even further, paying only $120/month for two fully insured vehicles) and the whislers cost me nothing at the time. Please do not insult my intelligence when you know nothing about my level of education nor what I do for a living. ☭

Same for me, worst case I'm out $11.
This area is known to have deer moving around in herds, there are so many of them. But I have noticed deer on the side of the road, they tend to pop their head up when I approach. Whether it works or not, I will always keep them on.

Plus, they act as good trail sights when driving. :)

I just would've put them in the lower grille where its flat surface and not in view, and still work (or not) instead of right on the paint.

are you a communist for a living?

I am a facilator for various programs and have a degree in political communication, fighting for social justice/building resilent communities to be self sufficent and to work as a collective in partnerships with other communities.

One focused on common ownership on means of production and distribution?
