I currently have a '23 OBX with the 1.5 engine. I haven't had any problems and the mileage is great. I'm thinking about trading for a newer OBX. What is the big difference between my '23 engine and the newer one. What are the pros and cons of upgrading to the new motor?
If you have one with no problems. Better keep it ! :)

Maybe it's just because it's foreign to me but I prefer the old cluster screen on my Bronco more than the new one.
Same with the infotainment system.
Not a fan of touchscreens and tech overload in cars though
me to, if they could have kept the screen I have in my Outer banks, and then added sync 4 in the same 8" screen I would love it.

I've had the 13.2 screen before on a 23 Escape. So yes we tried it. With the loss of physical buttons and the large screen my wife and I found it to be very distracting. This is just our opinion and maybe we are just old school but we were happy when we were able to switch out of the Escape and get the 24 BS. It still had the smaller screen with sync 3. While I am sure that the 25's have some great features that are not part of the 21 - 24 models, redesigns do not automatically mean better.

One thing I do not like about sync 4 is the fact that after the Ford Connect trial period the built I navigation if equipped will not work without an annual subscription. We really like the built in navigation on sync 3 and use it all the time and do not have to buy a subscription or update the maps every year if I do not want to for navigation to work.

Don't knock the 13.2" 'til you've tried it. Pretty sweet combo with the digital cluster!

I cant stand the HVAC + or - instead of a knob. my mom's explorer has that set up with actual buttons though, and it infuriates me to try to use it while driving. we originally were looking at rangers in 2021 and ended up with a sport because rangers also had that style HVAC controls, plus the asking price for the ranger with way less features than the sport didn't make sense.

I'm sure I would get used to it, but it just seems like a step backwards. 13" screen at the cost of searching for the heat control which is now a tiny button I'm going to fat finger, instead of an obvious, physical, ergonomic roll knob.

I have, the problem I have is the 21 to 24 bronco sports with the fancy gauge cluster in the outer banks, is nice, I do like the look of the one you have but not as much as the outer banks, although I do not like the fuel gauge in mine as it is in 8 segmented bars so you never know exactly how much fuel you have but you know its between 1/4 and 3/8th for example, but I don't mind the gauge cluster in yours either. its the center one I am disappointed with. by putting the larger screen in they removed all the physical buttons and sometimes I prefer the buttons. it also looks like all the others , the trend of just gluing a ipad to the dash.. at least integrate it into the dash instead of making it look like a 10 years old adapted it.. I blame tesla for that..

I have the fancy setup on my old truck where it has the controls on the screen and the buttons for the functions, well except for the heated airconditioned seats, that's on the touch screen only and to be honest it is a pain at times when your driving and trying to push the right place.
the buttons, once you get used to the positions are much easier to use with out looking at them, and ford did a fantastic job of minimalizing the buttons with the bronco sport. I some times even find it easier to use the radio volume than to use the steering wheel controls, but that's more of a issue of ford moved all the steering wheel controls around between my 2014 f350 and my bronco sport, nothing is the same haha

Moving from Mazda CX-5 to Bronco Sport in a week
Interesting thread, I just came to a Bronco Sport Outer Banks from a 2022 Mazda CX-5. The "shift dial", my hand still reaches for shifter LOL. Heck if an old guy like me can get use to THAT, the rest is a piece of cake. I do miss my Heads-up display, and I sure would like a warning that says "Hey Stupid you left your phone in the charger again". Still trying to figure it all out, maybe in my next life.

With the SYNC4, it connects to Android Auto or Apple Carplay and you never have to pay for updates on that, it automated updates! I used the Google maps on Android Auto this weekend, and it works great!!

It's voice activated! Just push the voice button on the steering wheel and tell it to set temp or change fan up or down. Also the screen is close enough so you won't have to look far to change your settings!

I loved reading this!! I came from a 2015 Mazda CX5 and ordered and purchased a 2025 Bronco Sport Outer Banks!! The main reason we decided to change was because my CX5, the navigation could no longer be updated! It had one of those chips for navigation and it could no longer be updated! I've never had a Heads-up display so I didn't miss having that. I do love the new digital cluster and the larger 13.2 screen!! Also, I too wish it had a something reminding me I left my phone on the charger!! It will take time to get it all figured out, and I'll have fun doing it!!.?

I have had a Blue CX-5 since 2013, last one was a Signature Turbo, not on purpose just a deal I could not pass up in 2022. Had a CX-50 on order, for several reasons looked at the Bronco Sport.

In the end, for me, much better value for the money.

Even for $80 per year, the out of cell range navigation will benefit me, as it is not unusual that Google won't connect in places I go LOL

The one Lady who works Part Time where i Work has had a few CX-5's she seems to like them and has never mentioned any problems with them. Have you guys had any problems with the CX-5's you have owned?

I didn't have any major problems with my 2015, just couldn't update my navigation anymore!

There is something I see no one is mentioning. That the Fordpass app is free!! Most other companies charge for the use of their app. When we went to look at Mazdas, we found out the first 3 years werw free, then after that it was $120 per year. My husband was impressed that Ford didn't charge for the app, then again some of the companies use a 3rd party for the app and Ford uses their own!
