This post is just to indicate, for the record (if anyone's searching), that my 2022 Bronco Sport's tranmission failed at 60,796 miles. The warranty stopped at 60k, but--if that wasn't bad enough--the vehicle had been a "courtesy car," so when I bought it, it actually already had 748 miles on it, meaning it was 48 miles past the warranty mileage limit. The dealer quote is $6,000, and over a week to complete. Use caution, my friends....

Please share with us the issues you have been having and what the dealer told you to correct.

I would escalate that Kevin, you should have a discussion with the service manager and/or the regional manager regarding the warranty issue. I can't see, unless there are extenuating circumstances, that Ford would balk on something as close to the limit as that.

Went through that with my 16 Focus. After the 3rd failure, I traded it in with 38K on the clock

The original Ford warranty actually starts when the vehicle is placed in service. Did the fact that this was originally a loaner car change the vehicle start date for warranty purpose? Either way the failure is way too close to the 60,000 mark not to raise the issue with the Dealer and Ford to either cover the transmission in full or at least provide assistance in reducing your cost. I am not sure if going through the Dealer and asking them to raise the issue with the regional manager is enough or call Ford to start a case and explain the situation and ask to have it covered under warranty.

Complaining to FORD is a waste of time. I did that, they then simply passed it to the local Dealer who told me to "NEVER" come back for anything again. He said they had a sign that said they could "Refuse Service to Anyone" and he didn't need the DRAMA. By the way my BS had about 5K on it when they tried to charge me for damage they did with the lift. Next closest Dealer is 3.5 hours away, SO complain the the Auto Dealers Association in your State or get an Attorney.

Can't blame the fact that it already had miles on it when you bought. You could have negotiated an extended warranty to the deal. I don't trust courtesy cars or rental car purchases, as the drivers of these trash them. I would add to use caution on that type of automotive purchase, unless they toss in an extended warranty.

Many dealers will not escalate the issue by applying for "goodwill"
If approved, it typically involves a 3 way split between Ford, the customer and the dealer.
Both the dealer and the customer are on the hook for 2000.00 each. Ford actually gets away dirt cheap as the transmission is billed out at retail/warranty pricing. No where near what it cost them. It's not "goodwill", it's "how can we download the cost while trying to look like we care"

I have had several goodwill repairs done by dealerships during my lifelong vehicle purchases. Never paid a dime out of my pocket.

I'll assume dealers don't pursue these types of goodwill repairs anymore.

At least the entire 6K was not charged to you.

That means your dealer ate the charges. I did the same several times. It's poor support from the manufacturer imo. One example, Edge backlight (taillight). Not covered under premium care warranty due to water intrusion. Cost of replacing it, 2000.00. Goodwill split? 33% each.
Problem is, that part actually cost Ford 57.00. They actually make great money on the transaction while claiming they are acting in good faith.
End result is I paid for 66% of the repair to keep a customer happy.

No--I ate the entire $6k. The dealer said that they had already gone to Ford several times recently, and were reluctant to go back to them for this one. They also said they were reluctant to make the case for me because I did not purchase the vehicle there. Now that my vehicle's back, I'll be contacting Ford directly to see if they'd be willing to do anything. And thank you for your concern about my whereabouts, Thomas. I have a busy life offline, and I'm not able to lurk on this forum like others.

I called around to get a better/different quote, but this is a pretty remote and rural area I'm afraid, so I didn't have too many options.
