2021 Transmission issue Bronco Sport

So anyone else having problems with 2021 Bronco Sports and transmission issues??? Bought my car Dec 2021, roughly 80k miles on it. While driving on the highway my car decided to punk out on me. It would not go while on drive. It was jolting and tugging. I tried to park the car and it was saying the car was not in park and would not allow me to turn off the vehicle. I had to get the vehicle towed to the dealership the next day. Ive been told its the transmission and I need a new one! 8k. Am I missing something?? The vehicle has been serviced regularly. I am having a hard to understanding how a BRAND NEW vehicle could have a transmission issue????

Hey there. Can you send over a message with your VIN and estimated mileage? I would like to take a closer look at your transmission on my end.

Did you service the transmission fluid around 40k miles?

Today transmissions are complicated pieces of technology. Not sure if there is a good one out there in newer vehicles.

Get a quote from another shop on a replacement or rebuild.

Factory service intervals are to be taken with a grain of salt. To many driving variables on vehicles and to expect one size fits all.

Hope you can resolve your problem for less cost. $8k seems excessive to me but it could be the going rate anymore.

yeah I think most people don’t realize that their daily drive actually falls within the severe duty maintenance schedule!

Unfortunately there have been people here that have posted about transmission issues happening in the 60k mile range and greater.
In relation to how many people that are on this board, transmission complaints are few. I would also imagine if the transmission had wide ranging issues the NHTSA would have a large number of complaints.
There are more complaints about the RDU (rear drive unit) than the transmission.
Hopefully your transmission problem will be addressed in a satisfying manor.

yeah I think most people don’t realize that their daily drive actually falls within the severe duty maintenance schedule!

I could not find a severe maintenance schedule for my 24 BS. Ford site only has a schedule by mileage and it never says anything more than inspect the transmission fluid "if you have a dipstick". These transmissions do not have a dipstick as they are sealed units.

It’s in the owners manual under SPECIAL OPERATING CONDITIONS SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE

(assuming you have that section for your 2024)

I searched the 24 owners manual again and looked up the 22 and 23 owners manual on the Ford support site. Ford removed the Special Operating Maintenance Schedule from the owners manual in 24. There is only 3 pages in the 24 owners manual discussing the maintenance schedule including a paragraph with a link to the Ford website:

"Scheduled Maintenance Service Intervals For your scheduled maintenance service
intervals, visit https://www.ford.com/support/maintenance-schedule."

No mention of a severe/special maintenance schedule. It seems Ford removed the schedule and wants you to rely on Ford's website and the dealer. The problem is that when I go to the website it is also cryptic and only shows one schedule based on miles driven and than it refers you back to the owners manual for the complete maintenance schedule.

Perhaps Ford’s website should have referred to a ‘22 or ‘23 owners manual for the “complete maintenance schedule”. Some Tech Writer dropped the ball on the ‘24 case.

I downloaded the 23 Manual as reference. I have a 20 Escape with no pdf manual available and there were numerous errors in the 23 Escape manual that I had where it described features that were deleted from the vehicle but still in the owners manual. I think it is another example of Ford cutting trying to cut costs by not taking the time to verify the accuracy of the owners manual which is actually an important document for the buyer.

Some may fall into that category, not most. My daily commute is 35 minutes of interstate.
