From the clips and reading I've done it appears that there is a good way to ensure good results
with minimum to no problems when replacing battery.

Turn off everything inside vehicle before turning off car.
Open hood
Take keys far enough away from car so it doesn't react to presence
Wait at least 5 minutes before starting to remove connections
Remove necessary parts to access battery and replace
Turn key to on but don't start engine yet
Reset BMS
*There was mention of window reset but that may only be on certain packages.

Did I miss anything for those who have done this already?

I wouldn’t overthink this. I disconnect my battery every February for 7 weeks while I go to Florida. I don’t turn stuff off, have my keys in my pocket and just remove the ground. If I wanted to replace the battery I’d just remove the hot too and probably perform the BMS reset. Once the ground wire is off your BS forgets 90% of what it knows, keeping important stuff like your radio presets!

What is BMS?
Battery Sensor Reset (Battery Management System (BMS) Reset):

When you install a new battery, reset the battery sensor by doing the following:
1. Switch ignition on, and leave the engine off.
Note: Complete Steps 2 & 3 within 10 seconds.
2. Flash the high beam headlamps five times, ending with the high beams off.
3. Press and release the brake pedal 3 times.
The battery warning lamp flashes 3 times to confirm that the reset is successful.

This includes the "learned" settings for the powertrain control module (PCM). Your engine might not run exactly how you remember as the PCM goes through the learning process.

I'm 81 years old and don't have the time for all those procedures. If I need a new battery, I plan to follow a shortened procedure::
1. Drive to dealership.
2. Drink free coffee.
3. Drive home from dealership.

I totally get others wanting just take it in and have it done when the time comes.
But I've always done my own work on cars/trucks and have most of the tools and a garage. Although these newer cars are a whole new ball game - so I stick to what I can do like oil changes, some suspension work, lights, brakes, other fluids, batteries, etc.,etc.
It is fun for me and I get others not so much.
