Does anyone prefer the Bronco Sport over the regular Bronco? (Or vice versa)

I would love the big Bronco but I can't afford one. I can't even afford the tires on the big ones. I off road every day and spend lots of time camping in the backcountry. But I will have to say my Big Bend with a lot of modifications does pretty darn well. I'm pretty happy with it.

Bronco Sport for us. It met our needs for the now and near future
The full size Bronco is too loud, too costly, uses too much gas. That could change in the future though.

I thought I would have regrets not waiting for the "big" Bronco, but the BS has been essentially trouble (and recall) free, while the introduction of the BB has been anything but. It's really a shame as there was unlimited potential in the market for the BB that was essentially wasted momentum.

It's an Escape in an Otterbox.
? Love it!

I drove Escapes for 40 hours / week, 48 weeks / year, from 2013 to 2022 at work. Escapes are reliable, comfortable, adequate power, and maintained good traction during heavy rain and ankle deep snow.

I like the Escape but I like the Escape in an Otterbox better.

There entirely different animals despite the name. And I prefer the Sport, it fits my needs better and I just dont have the need for a purpose built off roader. I have one car and this car needs to take me fishing, to work, take the dogs to the groomer, the brewery, road trips etc.

The big bronco is a very cool car, love the look of it especially the two door, but for my needs the Sport is simply a better car and I have done some very cool things with it including this...well...it was a hell of an adventure....car looks better with pinstripes right?

I genuinely dont have any regrets about the car. The only thing...which I harp on constantly, is I wish it had tilting seats. I could've got a Big Bend for the same price but I have never wanted nor needed a car with that sort of capability and apparently I am a pragmatic person who isn't super worried about image....that said the alto blue is the best blue.

The Big Bronco looks cooler and can do more off road. For day to day life, I like the little Sport and it has proven to be a good little rig and the 2.0L is great.
Well said. It is simply, What do you need? What do you want it for? I have both. But I had 2 Bronco Sport Badlands. One for fun and one for my wife. (No Mods No touch the wifes car). I just wanted to do more. Thus the 6G

I like the big Bronco and was thinking about trading my Bronco Sport for a big Bronco in a couple of years ,but I like driving my Bronco Sport to work so much that I dont feel the need to trade for a big Bronco .

It depends on what you want to do with your vehicle. I live in the northeast and most of the off road trails here are muddy, rocky and rutty. The bronco sport could do it but I was scraping the bottom. I got it lifted but didn’t like how it drove after that. I traded it in for a full size. love the driving height and the full seats . In my opinion the seats are way more comfortable on long haul driving. But true the full size is a bit more noisy and definitely not full efficient. Fuel efficiency is the biggest issue. The maneuverability of the full size is pretty amazing, can turn on a dime and with the 360 cameras very easy. I was lucky I got a real good price on my sport and ford gave me a hefty rebate so cost wise it really worked out for me.

IMO, the stock Bronco looks silly. The proportions are way off and it looks like it is driving on hockey pucks. I agree with you, though. It is hit or miss. I see some customized ones that look sick, and others that look dumb. It's mostly all just wheel/tire combos, so maybe it has something to do with that and the body color? Can't tell you exactly.

I do think the 2 door looks way better than the 4 door, but it is far less practical.

The engine is too small for the use case. The displacement isn't enough compared to the weight and aerodynamics, so the turbo is constantly in boost. I believe I saw an article about how it actually gets worse gas mileage highway than city to keep that mass moving

I love my "little" baby bronco, but I can barely get it in the garage. I'd have to leave a 'big' bronco in the driveway which would necessitate moving cars all the time. When it snows, I wonder how many people will bother to clean the roof of that larger, higher car? Or what will happen if that snow on the roof turns into ice? A friend literally lost an eye because of ice from a vehicle in front of her flying off and smashing her windshield.

I also don't off road more than the occasional farm, or unpaved road. So the capability of the larger vehicle would be lost on me.

I also agree that the bigger bronco seems odd looking to me. As Cursed Bronco mentioned, it could be the proportions. Seeing one on the roads around... they just seem a bit much for a daily driver.

I like my BS far more than four door soft top Broncos. If money were no object, though, a two door hard top Bronco would be my daily driver.
