Ford Sync showing small on touchscreen

Hi All, I recently started up my 2021 Bronco and on the touchscreen, it shows a new interface and it is smaller than the screen. I believe I remember a notification that it was updating at one point. It's almost like the update was for a different car altogether! The touchscreen doesn't work, nor does Carplay (though I can still play music). The Bronco Sport animation shows full screen. I tried holding power and the seek button but it doesn't fix it. Any ideas on what I can do to get my screen back?

If Sync is updating you would need to allow it time to complete but I also read that you can put the latest Sync update onto a USB Drive and install that for a quicker update (assuming that is true).
I disable the automatic software updates.

This happened to me Monday. Same exact thing. I tried everything disconnect battery, power + seek forward. Kept car on idle while it’s in WiFi for over half an hour nothing is working. Dealership has no loaners as always. Please anybody have any other ideas to fix it before I have to give my car into dealership.

As @Dude suggested I would try and reinstall Sync off a USB.

Won’t work. Once you insert usb you have to select source and touchscreen cannot be used

If you have a properly configured USB drive with SYNC loaded installation is automatic--you do not need to interact with the screen. Whether or not you get the appropriate notifications is another story, but you might try connecting a configured USB drive to your car at the beginning of a 30-minute drive just to see what happens. It may load in the background and restore system function on the next engine start. Here're step-by-step instructions:

If it’s loaded on the USB correctly it just reads the usb and starts the install. You don’t use the touchscreen to initiate.

I have the same problem that started last week. Called Ford about the issue since Sync update and they stated it was pushed to fix the ‘bugs’……

@Konigsberg Post here if you manage to fix this with the USB fix. At least I'm not the only one with this issue. Ford directed me to my dealer.

What build of Sync were you on before this issue?

The current version of Sync 3.4 is Build 23188. Did Ford push 23188 to your vehicle because you were on an older build?

Welp, tried it with USB and no luck. Downloaded the software, formatted usb blah blah kept the car running for 50 min. My sync did restart several times but nothing, same result.

Have appointment on Friday at dealership. I know they will try to screw me somehow as usual but will keep you guys updated.

Additionally I know it won’t make a difference but wow ford messaged everyone on here to let them know their VIN # and dealership but me ?

Sorry for my last more or less angry post but hey ford can do that you.
Wanted to put down what I tried and didn’t work
-Had thumb drive formatted to exFat
-Downloaded new software form ford website after putting in my VIN#,, extracted ito thumb drive
-turned the car on and inserted thumb drive
-did see sync restart several times but after 50 min I gave up
