Figured I post a reply here rather than make my own post, but for those curious about removing the rear seat on the badlands/any model with the underseat storage, it works quite well! Follow the steps laid out the MountianMack. What ends up happening is that the top of the seat with the storage stays in place as opposed to the other side (where the whole cushion is removed). What’s nice about this is that the top allows the seat back to fold nearly level, as opposed to below level. Hopefully this and the pictures make sense.

Just curious, have you noticed that after removing and reinstalling the seats that the Rear Passenger Check goes off every time you stop the engine? Up until removing the seat the first time, I only got the warning if something or something was sitting in the back while the engine was running.

Can't say that I have, and we've popped the back seat out/put it back in a few times now. Might want to make sure there's not a pinched wire or something of that nature

The Rear Passenger Check should not go off every time you stop the engine just because the rear seats were removed / installed. The Rear Passenger Check is determined by opening the rear doors not by pressure or weight on the rear seats themselves.

Disconnecting the rear seat belts is a different issue which is covered in some other thread.

Under normal circumstances, that rear seat check warning can be disabled through the infotainment screen for 6 months and then you have to do it again. I think it asks if you want to continue with that feature disabled after 6 months but I can’t remember exactly now.

Anyone happen to have experienced creaking coming from the frame the back seat sits on? I can reliably push on either side of the headrests and feel and hear the creaking coming from the frame. So when my vehicle goes over uneven terrain I’m assuming the subtle twisting of the vehicle shape causes the same effect creating the same noise. Driving me insane
