It ended up costing $300 all in….$180 for the hitch from Summit Racing and $120 for the install. No wiring harness since I also just wanted it for a bike rack and basket. What bike rack you have in mind? I am having a heck of a time trying to figure out which one to get.

also just added some low profile crossbars from Amazon, Curt hitch cover, and lock.

I am looking at the Ride1Up rack. I have two fat tire ebikes (Rad Rover 6+ and Lectric XP 3.0). Other riders I have talked to recommend that one over a Hollywood Rack.

Installed the Curt tow hitch. Took me 3 hours. Now that I’ve done it, it would probably take me 1 1/2.
Although it is technically less steps and easier than the oem or drawtite hitches, unless you have a lift, it is definitely a project. Fishing the wire through each hole was tedious cause of the awkward angles of laying on the ground.
Cutting the bumper was easy enough, I used a rotary tool from harbor freight. Not perfect by any means but it fits the hitch.
The hard part, getting the hitch into place to be bolted down by myself.
I ended up using 2 jack stands and wrestled with it til I could get a bolt threaded.

Mark S., I am curious of your opinion of how this hitch mounts in comparison to the others. Would you trust this set up for recovery/towing?

Drove to work, turned off bs and then it wouldn't restart. No other warning. 22 bs bb, been driving a little over 1.5 years and 37k miles. Replaced the OEM lead acid battery with a agm and no more probs.

I’ll be replacing the stock Big Bend 225’s with some beefier 235’s or 245’s this fall, including a matching spare.

Thanks to all the info I found here - I’ve replaced my original non-tow package version of the trunk cargo floor cover lid -

with the tow-package equipped version (I found mine on eBay)

That “hump” on the edge of the tow package version is part of what creates the extra room below the cover.

Not the sexiest upgrade, but it alleviates my last concern of going bigger on the tires…

I believe that is also standard on the Badlands trim. It allows for the full size spare. If you’re adding a matching rim, you’ll have to adjust the threaded part of your jack to thread the plastic cap on top of your spare. ?

Yep - I took care of that part when I replaced the donut spare with a full size matching spare of the 225’s ??

Appreciate the heads-up though ??

That’s pretty much the one I have decided to go with as well. Might be a little pricey but seems to be one of the better options.
