Well said, it's all subjective. Read the forum, Ford would have 8.37 million trims if everyone got their wish. I decked my badlands out my way. Bare bones. Oversized tires and tow was my only addition. Didn't want the frills. Maybe I prefer a off-road suspension?? I've spent most of my life driving a truck so...maybe?
All Ford has to do is add a 2.0L option and many more buyers would buy and be happy. Not many complaints on the 2.0L here but many with the 1.5L. I only took a shot with the 1.5L is because my BS will see maybe 4k-5K miles a years. I would have never bought it if I was doing 12K+ per.
I had a 2.0L in my '19 MKC and a '21 Corsair. No issue. Great engine.

I've got just over 15k on my '22 Big Bend and 2600 of those were on a trip last summer from Colorado thru Utah, AZ, Nevada, Cali. and back to Colorado. Temps were at or above 100 during the daytime travel. Drove 80 mph with air on constantly. Even got caught up in an accident which took us 2hrs to travel 7 miles in the Mohave desert with the temp reading on the dash 111! Then up and over the rockies to home and averaged 34.1 mpg. I'm not saying anything that others haven't already said about the 1.5l, it impresses me every time I drive it.

We have just over 30K on our 21 BB & we love it. Just took it on a 900-mile round trip from southwestern Va. to southern NJ towing my wife's motorcycle.

A confidence building post.

Hey don't overthink it, that will drive you around the bend. You have a 3 year/36,000 mile warranty. Enjoy your vehicle for a few years and see what happens. I have read enough here to know it's a hit and miss, but mostly a miss on the 1.5L. As stated by more knowledgeable people than me, this vehicle, in any trim, is a really good product, to this point in time.

I agree. Ford should make the 2.0L an option for all trim grades and include the liquid cooled clutches.
The more-powerful engine, which offers better low-end torque, and liquid-cooled power transfer unit are two of the four major differences between the Badlands and other trims. The other two are the heavy duty spring dampers with stop control valves (to prevent the dampers hitting mechanical stops at full extension) and the twin-clutch rear diff. These features offer the improved off-road capability Ford advertises for the Badlands trim. Given the other trims are more on-road than off-road focused, I think it unlikely Ford will offer off-road focused features on them. Different trim levels require differentiation to avoid stepping on each other.

I was upset to find out you couldn't get the panaromic roof in the Badlands.

I'd love it a lot more with the 2.0L.
Wanted to get one for each of us so saved a little money with a couple of Outer Banks! Not many mountains here, and we drive like we are in our 60’s! Oh wait we are in our 60’s! Loving these rides!

I'm up there in age too. That's why I didn't want the harsher ride of the Badlands. :)

Yep...I stated the sarcastic obvious. It's called the Badlands package. Grinds my ass how many people want every option at their price point. Want a 2.0? Ford offers it. Called the Badlands trim.
I want to eat ice cream while cutting to my 20 year old collegiate body? folks need a dose of reality. Ford has a great lineup with the sport assortment. It's been this way for decades across all manufacturers. Want more, choose the trim line. The 1.5 is a solid powerplant. I test drove several and felt it served every need I have the dealer talked me into the 2.0. I just put 2000+ miles ripping the black hills including some basic off roading. Get a badlands if you need the 2.0 a d cooling how complicated is it?
Nonsense. Your post is insulting and condescending. Almost all Ford trucks and SUV's have engine options available for an additional cost. Lots of people can't afford a BL and some just want some added offroad capability and reliability of the 2.0L system and would be willing to pay for it.

I find the question absurd and petty.
An outer banks is $35k MSRP
A badlands is $38K MSRP
How much you willing to pay for the engine??? Stop with whiny ass nonsense. This is an entry level SUV. You want to "pay up" for the engine and cooling system...DO IT.

F150XLT
Engine upgrade $2,335
4x4 upgrade $3,785
Need me to keep explaining???
I'll use ignore instead. Pack sand

This escalated quickly.....
I have a hot button for elitism. It's a bronco SPORT. They offer a plethora of trims. Ford is in the business to sell vehicles and profit. So many petty whiny complaints because Ford doesn't cater to their specific fine detail needs. Buy a damn Chevy! Or Dodge! Or whatever. It's one thing to vent disappointment but to ask for the moon and a $25K pricetag is out of touch with reality??
