I have the Ford maintenance contract and let them do it every 5,000 miles with the Ford Synthetic blend oil and new Ford filter.

My dealership will not change it at lest then 5,000 miles as it is a waste of money and cruel to the environment (there words). And I now do full synthetic, so once a year.

I switched to full synthetic and change oil at 5-7K miles. I use full synthetic for the superior lubricating properties of the oil and I maintain a 5-7K change interval to keep clean oil in my engine. These direct injected turbos are notorious for making your oil dirty. My 6.7L powerstroke has black oil 200 miles after an oil change.

I’m changing between 4-5,000 miles. Been doing that since 2005 Escape that accumulated 250,000 miles. To me it’s cheap insurance.

I heard it's good to do the first oil change early to get rid of filaments from production and engine break in.
I'm thinking of doing my first at 3k or 5k.

Thoughts?

I'm a believer in time being just as important as mileage. I won't go beyond 6 months regardless of how many miles driven. In my mind, if I put fewer miles during that period, it means a lot of short, stop and go city driving and that puts stress on the internals, so changing the oil and filter at less than 5k gives me confidence that I'm protecting the motor a little bit better.

This used to be "the way," but modern design and manufacturing has eliminated the need. Parts tolerances are so close today they require almost no wearing in.

I cut open the filter following the first oil change on my Badlands and found almost no metal. You can read about it in this post:

I just changed the oil and filter on my '23 OBX. It only had 900 miles on it, but I'm taking a 2000+ mile trip next week. After that the oil and filter will be changed every 5000 miles or once a year. I also run a full synthetic (Mobil 1) and Motorcraft FL-910S filter. Overkill? Maybe, but for a $40,000 investment it's worth it to me.

I've been changing my 2007 F150 every 7 to 8 thousand miles. It has 178K now. Synthetics last longer. No reason to change earlier than their recommended intervals unless you tow, live in dusty areas, or beat the daylights out of that ride..

I do every 3,500 on my older stuff, but plan on 5k with the Bronco.

Hello Bronco Sport fans! I'm changing my oil & filter every 3,000 miles regardless of what our manuals say. Looking for feedback from you.
I do every 2500 rotate every 5000 on my Badlands.

I change mine at 5,000. 3,000 is a good option to take. Aircraft change oil at 100 hours.
It is all a matter of personal perspective.

My 2015 Fiesta going strong at 360,000 miles with no oil burning and leaks using a 3-4,000 change interval with Lucas in every change. My wife's Solstice is over 220,000 using same. I can afford to do that frequent of a change cause I do it myself and always use full synthetic. Walmart synthetic is 23 for 5 Quarts and a suptech filter is 4 bux. I mean, It can't hurt and my history proves it's a good course of action. I know of no other Fiestas with that many miles and still runs perfect. My BS with the 1.5 was brand new in Sept 22 and now in April 23 is over 27k. Changes every 3-4. Changed to full ceramic breaks as well. They are easy to work on.
