A local shop is offering me a 1.5 inch lift and 1.5 inches spacer

I don’t think you want a 1.5” spacer. I would recommend 25mm (1”) as a maximum spacer with a 245 wide tire and a wheel with 38mm offset (stock offset). My wheels have a 30mm offset and I think that extra 8mm is what makes my tires rub.

Track Width

I really wanted to have a more aggressive stance. I didn’t want the tires to stick out but I don’t like the “fake bolt” fender flares. Luckily Air Design has nice clean fender flare set. This flare set looks very “stock”, which I like.

The 245 tire on a 30mm offset wheel sticks out just a little. When a 1” spacer is added, the tire really sticks out. Maybe something that some others would like. Adding the fender flares, brings it back to about flush. To me, this is perfect.

The decrease in wheel offset from 38mm to 30mm moves the outside surface of the tire out by 8mm (about 5/16”).

The increase in tire width from 225mm to 245mm means another 10mm (about 3/8”) of the tire pushing out, and also the same amount pushing in.

Apparently it looks like I'll end up needing a spacer too even with the 245's and the same rim. Was that a huge deal to put in a spacer? Where did you get yours from?
Any change in performance or turn radius with the spacer?

I would recommend a 20mm spacer instead of 25. A little rub on mine.
You just need someone to hold the brakes as you tighten them, otherwise they are a simple install.

I didn’t really drive it before putting on the spacers, other than the drive home. I don’t think there’s any change in performance or turning radius.

I do think that the 245’s are too wide for snow or the Toyos are just shit in snow. Good grip but horrible tracking.

just had time to install the 1.5 spacer lift from RC didn't buy the spacers and i have yet to install my tires the TOYO ATIII 245/65/17 ill install them on saturday

Feels really similar since it’s the stock suspension but you definitely fell more the cornes at speed also the height it’s really noticeable but fells good my suspension is new if this truck lasts me long enough and I damage the suspension I’ll get a GR40 from flat out in the future I’ll send you pictures tomorrow with the new wheels

Lufelham:

Looking good my friend! Meaning no slight at all to anyone that doesn't have a lifted Bronco Sport, but I think they look so much better (more boxy/blocky) lifted.

I liked it without the lift, but it looks much better (in my opinion) lifted.

Not listed as a fit match for the Bronco Sport but it does. Offset is potentially the issue for the 16” size but the 17” size has a 38mm offset. I think this is an oversight and I just happened to find it by snooping. This is a nice low cost option ($190/ea).

I chose the 16” size in order to get the taller sidewall. More sidewall is good for rocky trails and I live in “The Rockies”. The rule of thumb is the tire diameter should be double the wheel diameter. Not quite there with the 245/70/16 but it is a little closer.

It appears that there is potential to run a 15” wheel with a 75 series tire. It is hard to get anything in there to take a measurement but I can easily fit my fingers between the brake caliper and the wheel barrel.




Just to add a little bling and to get rid of the dreaded 2-piece Ford lug nuts, I went with these colorful lug nuts.

Interesting that the weight of this combination is not much different than the stock setup.

I couldn’t get a picture while trying to hold the stock wheel and tire, which a now separated to harvest the sensors for the new wheels/tires. Those came in at just over 51 lbs. So, just a couple of pounds difference between the setups, which is less than the difference between one tire/brand and another in general. That is with a 245 tire instead of a 225.

I don't know if you understand it but a 16X7 wheel will fit and even possibly a 15X7. The stock offset is 38mm but the wheels I bought have a 30mm offset and I also put a 25mm spacer, effectively making the offset 5mm. I don't think you will find many wheels with an offset less than 30mm but they are out there. You could also consider wheels at least 8 in wide. I'm pretty sure others here have used an 8" wide wheel.

It is always the offset that throws me off. But this helped clear it up, in essence I start with a large positive offset and the more offset added gets me closer to 0 and will stick out farther correct. So any offset from 38mm on down would work?
