Anyone else missing the panel under the dash above the passenger side fuse box where the floor air ducts are.

About a week. This one was manufactured on April 22, 2022.
I'm starting to wonder if we're being strung along.

First we were told it was ordered.

Then a Ford CSR (who was unusually nice BTW) told me that she was told by someone in the dealership parts dept that they didn't see an order for the panel. That it had not been ordered.

It seemed pointless to lie about ordering a part because sooner or later the customer will have to be told they aren't getting it. I figured the sales manager must have used a different source/system that the parts guy couldn't see. Sure enough, that's what the sales manager said. He assured me that the order had been placed.

However, now it's been over a month, so I'm beginning to wonder.

For those who ordered the panel (or asked the dealer to order it) how long did it take to arrive?

My dealership service department showed they were on backorder until May 12. The Service Manager approved the order, but I never got a call. So I was near the dealer on May 25 and stopped by to check. Sure enough it had come in. Service went and got it from parts and went out and installed it. That was a Wednesday. The following Friday (27th) I got an email asking how my service was on the 26th. I didn’t bother to reply. On Saturday (28th) I received notification that my part was in and I should call for an appointment to have it installed. ?

Your dealership sounds like ours -- a well-oiled machine!

I guess I should call again and check because we're into month 2 now.

It is true that Ford isn’t replacing the missing parts under warranty. The dealers are eating the cost. That’s why they don’t want to order, I would think. I got the under dash panel. They also ordered the tow eye and the filler funnel since mine didn’t have them. Dealer had no idea what I was talking about until I was pulling the rear apart and on my back showing them the missing panel.
I also think they didn’t install half my speakers since this B&O system is straight poop

Dealers are having to pay for parts that Ford deleted?! That's really outrageous! I'm surprised the dealerships are not screaming bloody murder.

What's the difference between Ford forcing the dealerships to pay for missing parts, and Ford not compensating dealers for warranty repairs?!

As avaricious as car dealers are, it's hard to imagine them taking this lying down.

I don't know what to believe. A cynical person might suspect that the sales manager is simply claiming the dealership has to pay, in order to score points with the customer for "doing them a favor".

5 weeks after the panel was ordered...

I spoke with the GM at the dealership today. He checked and, similar to Wolf's experience (above) -- the panel had been delivered, but no one was notified.

In any case, my wife picked it up and I installed when she got home -- so that's 2 down (panel and shackle hitch receiver) and one to go (the folding headrests). The GM said he doesn't see any folding headrests listed for the 2022 BS, but he is going to see what he can do -- perhaps get some that are listed for a 2021? IDK.

I should find out more on Monday.

BTW, the dealer is still claiming that the panel was NOT covered under warranty and that they had to cover the cost.

What I'm really curious about is exactly what the deal is with the folding rear headrests for the 2022 BS.

Some owners report that their '22 BS came with them.
Others say they've seen 2022 models with them at dealerships.
People report being able to order them, and getting a perfect color match.

Here is a photo from Ford's website showing a 2022 with folding head restraints:

Got my missing hush panel in today and installed it myself. Got the hood insulation on order but apparently now its $165. I used my Ford points which ticks me off but I want this to help with the insulation and quietness as I feel these should be on the vehicle. The hood scoop can wait lol I did find out from the parts guy that the hood insulation is apart of the noise insulation package? What in the world? Still waiting for the outcome from the "Regional Manager" named Angel according to my sales Manager regarding my fog lights missing. Really frustrating I keep having to show up every weekend and make him realize I mean business just to get what I paid for.

"...noise insulation package"?!

That's a new one. I don't recall seeing that option on the build tool...

Someone really should do a documentary about the culture at auto dealerships.

A responsible, ethical business would take care of legitimate customer concerns like this ASAP -- not string people along for weeks and months.

I purposely said "ASAP" because all reasonable people understand that there are supply issues beyond anyone's control -- but when parts are available they should provide them to the customer without delay.

BTW -- I may have mentioned this, but our Badlands came with the hood insulation. You should not have to pay for that out-of-pocket.

I have the Big Bend so not sure if that makes a difference. He looked up 2022 and it wasn't showing. Showed on the 21 and the hood is the same so it's confirmed to fit which I already knew but thats when he showed me the description next to it on the parts page and I couldn't believe it myself. Just frustrating I have to use my points and still in limbo about my fog lights. I have legal advice with work for free so might be checking with them about what my best option would be.
