Anyone else missing the panel under the dash above the passenger side fuse box where the floor air ducts are.

A few days ago, my dealer ordered the "under dash" panel under warranty. I picked it up and installed it today. So far they are standing their ground on the engine cover and rear tow hook, stating that Ford claims they are not part of the build.
You had better luck than most getting the panel so quickly. Mine has supposedly been ordered for a month now...

Near as I can tell, no one has gotten the engine cover under warranty. It seems that it really was quietly discontinued. AFAIK, those plastic engine covers (in general, all cars) are typically just cosmetic. Maybe the mfrs had 'focus groups' that told them all of the wires; hoses; and sensors were "unsightly". Who knows? In any case, if ours had one and it ever had to be removed for maintenance, it would end up on a shelf in the garage. Bottom line -- if it is supposed to be installed, I want it -- but if it was truly discontinued then I won't miss it. That said, I understand that some people do like the appearance and they have been willing to pay for the cover.

On the rear tow hook, I'm guessing you're referring to what Ford calls the "towing eye"? Do you have the tow package (hitch)? If not then as you know, your BL has a threaded hole for a tow eye and you should have one. In fact, page 265 of the owner's manual states:

"You MUST carry the towing eye in your vehicle at all times."

The manual goes on to talk about the "front recovery hooks." They're good to have, but that doesn't help in many situations. If you're nose down in the mud, how do you get out? If you're hanging off a guard rail by your rear tires how are they going to pull you back?

It can be done of course, but why not have a proper recovery point? Ford sure thinks it's important:

"You MUST carry the towing eye in your vehicle at all times."

OK then, supply one.

I do not have the tow package on my BL, so I had already bought a rear towing eye from Amazon a couple of weeks ago. I was prepared to return it if the dealer offered me one.

"So mazda is out of bose speakers so they tell you on sticker and give a 440 dollar credit."

That's how these issues *should* be handled. Kudos to Mazda for raising the bar and setting an example for less ethical corporations to follow. Points for being a stand-up company.

"unlike ford whos bs models have gone up a couple grand in price, while shorting parts and not caring. Not very good business."

You got that right. Sadly, that's becoming more common -- behavior that is greedy; selfish; short-sighted; and/or stupid. Ford may boost their bottom line for this year, but long-term, this is a losing strategy.

Toyota became the #1 auto maker in the world by selling reliable vehicles at a reasonable price. Not by being hyper-focused on the current quarter's numbers and coming up with ways to defraud their customers.

Most people understand that the market dictates price. So while MSRP is traditionally a sucker's price, in this market it's reasonable. What's NOT expected or acceptable is to have PARTS MISSING from a brand new vehicle, and then to have the dealer and/or Ford say (essentially) 'tough shit':

* "Well, that part is not listed on the sticker..." (neither are 10,000 other parts)
* "Oh, did we forget to tell you? That part was quietly discontinued...buh-bye"
* "That part is only available in the (non-existent) "most excellent, rad, epic, Xtreme package..."
* "Due to supply line issues that part was not installed. (OK, install it later or issue a refund)

Of course Ford and their dealers are in business to make a profit, but they should act ethically and treat people right -- not lie to them and jerk them around, especially after they have spent ~$40,000!

It should go without saying that if a mfr cannot provide something a customer has paid for, they should refund their money -- as Mazda does. It's easy to get wrapped up in the mindset that "a few hundred dollars is "not much" when you're buying a $40,000 car..." My position is that it's still a few hundred dollars!

BTW -- how did you get the engine cover?
Well said my friend.. so i complained to ford snd got a 100 gift card.. i called like 4 times

Well I went and saw my lovely sales manager today regarding my missing hood insulation, hush panel, and missing fog lights. He said Ford themselves confirmed no more hood insulation so that'll be $132 out the door. Hush Panel is ordered and will be here on the 10th apparently. My missing fog lights well apparently Ford is working on something as far as a refund check but no dollar amount was given. I'll give him till next week and see what the latest "update" is. I really wanted to order the Bronco when the banks open in August but this has certainly left a sour taste in my mouth since this has been going on for nearly 3 months now.

It's incredible that Ford actually deleted the tow eye!

Why not discontinue the spare and the jack while they're at it?!

What makes it even worse is that the manual (p. 265) says:

""You MUST carry the towing eye in your vehicle at all times." OK, where is it?!

Ford deleted a critical piece of safety equipment and does not even have the decency to warn their customers. Bronco Sport forum members are aware of this penny ante attempt to save a few bucks at the owners' risk and expense, but the majority of owners will only find out when they are in a ditch.

Sadly, that's about what I expected.

As far as I know, the hood insulation was NOT discontinued. Our BL (ordered Dec, delivered March) has it. Many forum members report that their BS has it. Unlike the engine cover, it is not just cosmetic. Your BL should have come with it. You might contact Ford again (I am going to re: the headrests). Do you have a case number from Ford?

Don't forget your state AG's office.

3 months is a long time. It sounds like they are just stringing you along, as our dealer did/is doing with me.

One other thought -- I read that someone here in MD had luck with the MVA. Apparently they regulate the auto dealers in some way. In any case, you might contact your MVA/DMV or whoever regulates dealers in your state.

IDK if this is what you mean by "free", but generally speaking, when people say they used their FordPass points (or gift card in this case) and got stuff for 'free' I can't help pointing out that it really isn't free at all.

The points/gift card are essentially cash. The owner is spending *their* money. If it isn't spent on 'A' it can be spent on 'B'.

If they are buying something they wanted that was not owed to them -- like seat covers -- that's one thing. But if they are buying something that should have come with the vehicle then they are still out that amount of money -- because they could have spent it on something else.

An exception might be if there is absolutely nothing else the person wants, and the points/gift card would otherwise go unused -- but most people can think of something they need/want, aside from parts that should have been on the car from the factory.

Has anyone noticed if you now spec out a carbonized gray badlands the picture depicts the light gray roof instead of the black one? I asked about the roof but was told they don’t know why it was gray and not black. Personally, it’s what I wanted but couldn’t order so I’m ok with it. Still don’t understand why it seems to be only on the carbonized gray vehicles.

Mystery solved!

When was your BS built? Mine was built in March and I have the hood insulation. I had to wait for the hush panel to come off back order, but it was installed 25 May at no cost to me. I guess I need to go back and complain about the tow eye. Especially since the Ford manual says it must be in the vehicle.
