It’s absolutely crazy how people think a literal box is going to drive like a sports car on a windy day.

but I am used to the wiggle dance, so the box will never fail me.
Perfectly said , I figured that out the day mine was on order , no surprise here , it is a sharp looking brick that actually drives in my opinion as good as my Lincoln I traded in . I am into month 15 absolutely perfect .

Does anyone else feel like the wind might just take your bs away. When im driving at higher speeds when windy this little sport sways everywhere. More than any vehicle i ever owned. Can almost compare to like a 2011 jeep grand cherokee my buddy had. But that was just jeep suspension i think. Any thoughts. Am i crazy
I have posted about how the Bronco Sport is down right dangerous in the wind. And subsequently shut down by these BS addicts.

Yup. They defend it because they own one. But in all actuality ford dropped the ball with the design.. finally a reasonable person ?

Ralph Nader published his book “Unsafe at any speed” in 1965 about the Corvair. My Corvair blew the left front tire at 60mph on the 101 and coasted to a safe, straight stop with fire and smoke belching out from the wheel well. The reason there are so many different vehicles on the road is the needs/wants of so many different people! If you don't like a car, don't buy it (or sell it) and get what you like. But if you tell someone else you don't like what THEY LIKE, expect to get negative feedback. If you really hate the Bronco Sport, you should be following a forum for what YOU DO LIKE, not what you don't.

This thread is really going places......

I will be interested in seeing how my ladies ride handles in windy situations, but suspect it will be no better or worse than her Kia Soul. Certainly better than my Jeep. 2 door Wranglers are not well known for their sophisticated handling in the wind! But all this is pretty par for the course with boxy vehicles.

If I were in the market for a vehicle I would go with a 2 door Bronco, maybe a Land Rover. Mazda fell out of grace with me after my last one. 11 dealership repairs in under 3 years, got rid of that thing before the warranty expired.

...the vehicle is poor design...
Do you have vehicle design credentials on which to base this claim? Otherwise we have a couple of people on this forum who don't like the way their cars handle in the wind vs a whole bunch of other people on the forum who say their cars handle as well or better than any other cars they've owned.

Given the litigious society we live in, Ford has a great deal of incentive to test the road worthiness of its vehicles under a variety of expected weather conditions. I would have to see data beyond your driving observations before I accept a claim the Bronco Sport is a "poor design."

Just roll all your windows down when you get those really tough crosswinds up over 2 mph. That should help a little bit.

I'm actually pleasantly surprised by how planted and solid the BS feels. I think it feels more solid when driving than anything this shape deserves to feel. I recently drove my 2016 BMW X3 about 930 miles from Georgia to Iowa, and then drove a Bronco Sport back the same 930 miles home. I was very tuned in to how it felt compared to the X3, which is known for being a driver's car and very planted. The Bronco Sport was actually even more confidence inspiring to me than the X3.
