Before my BS, I had a 2006 Honda Accord. The outside looked horrible (several deer/car incidents and repairs along with failing clear coat) but it was mostly solid. My first vacation of 2023, I decided to do some work on it and ended up messing up a bolt on the VTEC solenoid. After it happened, it looked like a somewhat common problem.

I had been looking into a replacement already but couldn't decide on what. I like the Passport but it was really old tech in 2023. I've always had sedans so I was leaning towards an SUV/CUV. The Tiguan was boring, Jetta wasn't too much more exciting. The 9th and 10th gen Accords were nice but something felt off.

Well after that bolt broke and I tried repairing it for a while, I decided that was the time to get a new car. I really liked Honda back then but I just didn't feel it with the new Accords. Civics were overpriced and I couldn't find one I liked. I drove a couple of hours away to look at Accords and a Passport but passed on them. There was another Passport that had been at a Ford dealership for a few weeks just a few more hours away. We made the drive out there. I didn't feel the Passport and the salesman asked what I thought about the BSs? I asked him to get the keys.

He brought the keys for the white Big Bend. I believe there was a Robins Egg Blue Heritage and another black BS. I drove it about a mile and said I'll take it.

I had watched a YouTube video about the BS maybe a year or so before but it definitely wasn't on my radar. I had been wanting to do some road trips and the BS helps me with this and going off pavement. It's a bit cramped in the back but being single and the only on on the trip, it's manageable. Overall, I'm happy with it, but I still have a place for Honda. I'm thinking maybe a Passport next or a larger Bronco. It really would depend where I'm at in life and what my needs are. I would also consider a Bronco Sport but don't have the need for that small of an upgrade right now.

I was looking for a replacement for my 2005 Ford Escape a boxy little SUV which I had for 17 years. I hate the newer Escape body so that was not an option and the Explorer was too expensive. I wish it was a bit bigger, but my kids are getting older so soon I will be just driving myself and a a couple of large dogs around, so it works for us fine.

While I love the full sized Bronco and Jeep Wranglers (childhood dream car), they were too expensive and let’s face it I am not off roading to the extent that these would be a practical choice for me. Plus I wanted something under $40k.

I looked at the RAV4 hybrid even though it is more sedan shaped than SUV (to me at least). My 6’2” husband’s head was too close to the roof, so a no go.

I was looking at Subarus as well, but I really just love the look of the Bronco (I know not a great deciding factor). My family has owned Fords my whole life without much issue (knock on wood).

In all honesty I wasn’t really looking to replace my ‘20 MB C300 4MATIC. It wasn’t a priority or anything. I liked the Mercedes. Very smooth ride, and very reliable. I had it for a year, and bought it pre-owned. There were really only three things that bothered me about it; 1.)You have to put premium fuel in it, 2.)It can be challenging to fit 2 bags of golf clubs in the trunk, and 3.)Mine had some wonky software issues with the trunk, so either the close & lock would only work intermittently, or on more than one occasion, it tried to come down automatically on my head.

I went to the local stealership to merely look at the BS for my daughter that will be going to college in the fall, as we’re considering getting her a car as a graduation gift depending on where she ends up going to school. I was so impressed with what I saw, I ended up trading in the Benz! I come from a Ford family, and I personally have owned a ‘72 Gran Torino, an ‘88 Bronco II, ‘99 2-door Explorer Sport, a ‘16 F-150, and a ‘19 4-door Explorer with the Sport package that had the 365hp 3.0L V-6. They really made me an offer on a ‘25 OB that was pretty hard to turn down. I’m not really a big off-roader, and although I’ve owned 7 4x4’s including 2 Jeep Wranglers, none of them ever saw dirt. This is more about the excellent fuel economy, the extra space for mine and my daughter’s golf clubs, and all of the outstanding ”creature comforts“ in the OB.

I didn’t, my wife did. It’s an SUV that looks good and not like every other egg on the road. Plus we have a Bronco and on second Maverick. This is her 2nd sport. This one is a Heritage Edition. Guess you could say we like Fords. Been driving Fords since my first. 86 Escort GT. Also F150’s and some Rangers and a Fusion in the mix. Done for awhile with current 3.

Cool l@@king - great little errand runner - 8mpg better gas mileage than previous daily driver - although I never even had the mileage screen selected until recently - it's always on the calm screen. Peppy - passed another BS Sport today on the highway since most are not driven for sport. Great turning radius - perfect go to a hiking trail rig - me being retired it has seen more miles doing that than anything else.

I saw the tv commercial when they first came out and said "I want that". My Wrangler was rusting away and a new one was too expensive. I got the Sport for 0% and $25 oil changes for life. Love the gas milage!

I needed a new daily driver for my 1988 BMW 735i is harder to get parts for and must wait for several weeks for parts to arrive, leaving me without a ride. Also, I wanted something that is easier to get in/out of and is 4x4. I looked at several new makes but, the Bronco Sport was not too huge, good head room, tyres not to expensive, and it doesn't guzzle gasoline like the others. The sales person gave me a great deal as well compared to the competitors. The Bronco suits me perfectly and great for our winters here.

Having owned a 4-cylinder, 5-speed Ranger since 1996, I was excited when the "$20,000" Maverick was announced. This seemed like a logical successor to my reliable compact truck.

By early 2025, my daily driver 2016 Nissan Rogue was getting into high mileage territory, so I started seriously looking at Mavericks.

I found out pretty quick that hybrid models were extremely rare, and any additional features pushed the price well beyond the advertised starting point.

On test drives the Mavericks felt cheaper and less substantial than I expected. The new Ranger driver's position felt cramped compared to the vehicle's size, and adding amenities drove the price up.

One Sunday afternoon, while casually browsing a closed dealership lot with my wife, we compared the Maverick and Ranger sizes. She noticed a row of Bronco Sports with sticker prices around $35,000. They had not even been on my radar.

After watching some YouTube videos and test-driving all three vehicles - Maverick, Ranger, and Bronco Sport - I bought a 2024 Bronco Sport Badlands the next day at a price I'm comfortable with.

It meets all my needs: enough off-road capability, cargo space, OK towing capacity, and good performance.

It's practical and fun - like a toy you can actually drive every day.

I posted this in another thread, but it’s appropriate here as well.

I have long liked the concept of a compact or modest sized sporty truck. it was really an alternative to a sports car, but with more practicality to it.

Way back in the ‘80s I remember liking the Toyota SR5 Xtracab pickup—very cool. Then we got the Ford Ranger and Bronco II as well as a host of other small trucks and SUVs. But back then they were still very much trucks, and I balanced that against what I like out of driving a car which I found in compact cars like VW Golfs, Scirocco and Jettas, Honda Civic Si and others. So while I liked the concept if the vehicles we had back then for me there too much compromise.

Then all those compact trucks went away. And in the interim I got older. And then the modest sized trucks and the like have started coming back.

I don’t hotdog it like when I was younger, but I still like a sporty feel when driving—something fun that beckons me to get in and drive. Suffice to say the introduction of the Bronco Sport caught my attention and piqued my interest. Yeah, I read reviews and watched review videos, but it wasn’t until I drove it myself I started thinking this could be the vehicle I had watched for all those years.

And so far so good.

It was a hard decision for me. My husband wanted my beloved Wrangler that had been my daily driver for 4 years and the the 3rd I’ve had for a toy. My husband also has a 2dr Bronco base. I wasn’t sure which way to go as I could have gotten anything. But I’ve been car camping and the BS Badlands is perfect for that.

I am now a one-vehicle household and was driving a sports car that took premium gas and had expensive maintenance. I decided I really needed something with regular octane gas but wanted heated seats and a heated steering wheel but under $40k. There are very few vehicles under $40k with both those and most are an upgraded package. And I didn't want a hybrid or electric, which knocked out about half the list. The Bronco Sport is the least SUV-looking SUV and is surprisingly smaller (shorter, narrower) than a lot of the mid-size cars.

I had a 2004 CrownVic previously. I found the Bronco Sport not a lot narrower than my CrownVic, but significantly 39 in. shorter. This pays off not only in great maneuverability, but it fits in my garage a lot more easily with room to spare.

My wife won a 2G Escape at work. 2012 Ford Escape Limited Hybrid. Bronco Sport very much feels like an updated 2G Escape, which she really liked. She ordered a '23 Badlands when the order banks opened.

I saw one of the early ones and it caught my eye. Started seeing more and decided next time we bought a car this would be it. Silly as it seems, liked the Bronco on the front grill and we have an excellent Ford dealership that is near us.
