Before my BS, I had a 2006 Honda Accord. The outside looked horrible (several deer/car incidents and repairs along with failing clear coat) but it was mostly solid. My first vacation of 2023, I decided to do some work on it and ended up messing up a bolt on the VTEC solenoid. After it happened, it looked like a somewhat common problem.
I had been looking into a replacement already but couldn't decide on what. I like the Passport but it was really old tech in 2023. I've always had sedans so I was leaning towards an SUV/CUV. The Tiguan was boring, Jetta wasn't too much more exciting. The 9th and 10th gen Accords were nice but something felt off.
Well after that bolt broke and I tried repairing it for a while, I decided that was the time to get a new car. I really liked Honda back then but I just didn't feel it with the new Accords. Civics were overpriced and I couldn't find one I liked. I drove a couple of hours away to look at Accords and a Passport but passed on them. There was another Passport that had been at a Ford dealership for a few weeks just a few more hours away. We made the drive out there. I didn't feel the Passport and the salesman asked what I thought about the BSs? I asked him to get the keys.
He brought the keys for the white Big Bend. I believe there was a Robins Egg Blue Heritage and another black BS. I drove it about a mile and said I'll take it.
I had watched a YouTube video about the BS maybe a year or so before but it definitely wasn't on my radar. I had been wanting to do some road trips and the BS helps me with this and going off pavement. It's a bit cramped in the back but being single and the only on on the trip, it's manageable. Overall, I'm happy with it, but I still have a place for Honda. I'm thinking maybe a Passport next or a larger Bronco. It really would depend where I'm at in life and what my needs are. I would also consider a Bronco Sport but don't have the need for that small of an upgrade right now.
